That is quite the haul considering players the Giants prolly wanted got taken.

Yeah I'd be hard pressed to say no to any trade giving me a future first like that AND a pick this year to take a defensive back. Very few players are worth trading a haul for, even less if they aren't a QB.

  4. #384
I'm just going to assume Denver wasn't offered that same trade. Surtain is a pick for the future (Fuller, Darby and Callahan will all be ahead of him this year), so turning down another 1st for that would be questionable.

Then again, most of Paton's moves so far have been questionable.

ILB seems weird for the Cowboys, I thought they already had 2 really good ones.

Yeah always the big mystery of what teams offer each other in trades.

Pats sit there and a QB falls to them.

Cam Newton and Mac Jones is an interesting QB room. They are basically exact opposites.

The closer we get to 17 the more anxious I become.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

Ouch. That was a bit too on point.

Mac Jones, without trading up? Fine by me. He won't be Tom Brady, but I'll settle for a more durable Jimmy Garoppolo type.

Hey when you could spend a mid-1st rounder on a player many thought was a mid round 2 player, you gotta do it?

Yeah seems like a free shot at a QB and paying even less over 5 years than other teams will.

  12. #392
Well, that is for sure a Gruden pick.

Is it like trying to outthink the room and go after a player that early? I don't understand it. You could maybe trade that pick and just get the guy PLUS other players for nothing.

I mean they went the best QB left at 3.

And big surprise they didn't trade up for Mac Jones after all. And Mac Jones falls past where they were all the way to.... the Patriots.

Easiest QB fall to read ever.

Nah the Raiders love their "culture guys."

Even if those culture guys are valued late 1/early 2 and taken in the early 1st.

Are we seriously still at 2 CBs total in the first round? *rubs hands* All according to keikaku.

Sure but they gave up a ton for it. If they are right then it is easily worth it, if after 2-3 years it isn't there...well they won't have a first rounder for a while.

Sure if that culture is being an average to below average football team I guess.

If I didn't have to watch Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater I would like it a lot.
Maybe they just picked someone Green Bay wants? :P

They did take a Corner. But supposedly after they traded for Bridgewater they decided they were done. Competition for Drew Lock but not somebody to outright replace him.

Saints coming up shortly, I just wonder if they swerve and do something unexpected. And lol Jacksonville is now Clemson. Not gonna lie I was thinking Etienne might be the swerve for the Saints.

I kinda get why they'd want to do this. Get your Rookie QB an elite RB to hand off to.

I wish it was a WR or a Lineman though.

Also lol Packers are gonna stumble into a good CB.
