This is one of the few honest things you've ever said. You aren't doing it to hide, you're doing it to tr.......oh wait, I forgot we can't call people that on here.

Here's a pro-tip for you though, try changing your sig to something just a bit more subtle so as to not make it so obvious that you're tr.......oops, forgot again.

All you guys do is assuming that lies were told. Personally I don't even understand why the moderators allow people to keep randomly claiming that someone 'lied' about something entirely unrelated to the thread subject.

Congratulations you found a biased opinion piece of someone I actually dislike, but forcing me to point out how much of another feckless and pointless thread this is. I get you want to cultivate a (BLUE) can do no evil mindset here. However, it's simple not even close to true, and you spending all your time vilifying those who want things like a living wage, Universal Healthcare, and is actually critical of democrats shows you care more about being part of a team then actual policy that can help people.
American politics has become an us vs them problem over the last while. People are so stuck in their party lines and so hell bent on their ideology that they can't see the road in front of them and what the goals are. The Dems are fucking garbage at policy and Biden has proven himself to be nothing more than a useless, lying and inept president. And we are still in early days too.

And somehow still manages to be both terrible and still better than Trump or any GoP president.

So, to confirm... you really are a European expat who moved to Florida just to vote for Trump? You are also confirming that your attempts to claim concern about sexual assault were a complete lie, when you admitted to supporting a racist like Trump?

Talk about aligning with the far right...

Democrats passed relief for Americans, with 0 GOP support, while having overwhelming popular support... because people don’t understand what “us vs them” actually means. The last week has had monumental events for American people. From full vaccine availability by May and a normal 4th of July, to the stimulus helping a shit ton of people.

Instead, who is too busy with Lola Bunny and defending the British royal crown? You say shit, then the next sentence under cuts it all... thus the OP... without it... Patriots would be celebrating a normal 4th of July...

Edit: As of January 6th and including the previous 4 years. Chanting “Fuck Trump” is now the same as chanting “USA, USA, USA”...

Edit 2: Play ‘us vs them’ here... but, Trump sent a letter saying to not forget that without him, the vaccine he took in secret, that was made in Germany, was all because of him... go for it...

Compare Biden’s ‘normal 4th of July’ and Trump’s ‘it will be gone by Easter’... I believe in deconstructing these two statements, we will conclude that the issue isn’t a dichotomy of any sorts, but an ego of extreme proportions. An ego, that then leads well meaning forks, to do extreme things...

Eh, after experiencing first-hand your neurotic nitpicking, have you ever considered the problem might, in fact, lie with you?

Jesus christ...I remember a time in which I wished we discussed politics in America a lot more, especially hearing stories about how commonplace it was in Italy decades ago when I went to visit family.

Now I just desperately wish 90% of the people talking about politics, especially via podcast, would shut the fuck up.

It bears pointing out, before the cheap seats start jumping in, that she's talking about the all-or-nothing podcasters and such, the bernie-or-busters, those people, not the "standard" Democratic representatives like Biden et al.

Everyone opposed to incrementalism who's shitting on the stimulus bill because "OMG wharr $2000 check" or "no $15 min wage = RIOT" or whatever other intellectually stunted turd they're trying to get everyone to take a big sniff of this week.

Edit: In an attempt to provide something constructive, the US system would probably be improved by mandating that every issue be debated/discussed/voted separately. Once issues are voted and settled, they're added to the bill if they pass, and the bill itself is not voted on in its complete state, because the issues votes already handled that.

Yes, I mean issues voted separately by both houses, then added to the bill. The bill should be a collection of issues that are to be enacted once signed, rather than piling everything in one misshapen cart and then demanding everyone vote yay/nay on the whole ugly mess.

Ironically, the solution to her little dilemma is for there to just be one political party, that way we can have all of the ideas and people won't reject them just because they come from the other party!

It'd be great if people just thought through these things before they utter them out loud.

Did you even pay attention to what she was saying? She wasn't complaining about Republican opposition, dude.

I'm thinking back to all the shows I've seen her in and the extensive appearances on celebrity shows like, "I love the 90's" and "The History of Swearing" and wondering who the fuck thought to themselves, "You know what? I'd like to hear what Sarah Silverman has to say about politics." afterwards.

Like, enjoy your stage queen, but take a second to think if anybody was clamoring for more Sarah Silverman's political philosophy podcast.

I mean, we all just put too much shit on this stuff. I'm gonna try to keep that one handy, it's just so damn insightful and useful!

    Yes, I did.

There's a part of the video where she complains about democrats dismissing "ideas" simply because they come from Republicans (she includes herself, btw) and that Republicans dismiss "ideas" because they come from people like AOC. She's complaining about polarization in that part of the video and polarization is not the problem.

If I got the context wrong then the 40s edited video that we're responding to is the reason why.

She's right that it's terrible that so much bullshit has been tied up in political affiliation, generally.

However, to quibble, Republicans have repeatedly and en massed engaged in deliberate disinformation campaigns to push false narratives and mislead the public regarding the intent behind platform positions. Trickle-down economics, voter ID laws, COVID response, plenty of examples. There's good reason to consider a Republican idea suspect, given the source. But I think the big difference is that Democrats, at least Democratic politicians, approach it with suspicion but analyse it for merit. Whereas Republicans just wholesale deny based on the source. As a for-instance, consider the ACA; it was based loosely on Romneycare.

I think she's overall right, but I think she's being a bit too "both sides" in the end. I think she's right to not identify as a Democrat, but that's because I think party affiliation shouldn't be a personal identity in the first place. I sure don't have one. Doesn't mean you're waffling between Democrat and Republican; you could as easily be way more socialist than Democrats and still strongly oppose Republican platform ideas.

Probably nothing more pathetic than alt-righters trying to come across ultra woke. Yes, people like Jimmy Dore and most of the TYT were Alt-Right in my opinion. Cenk constantly flirted with Alex Jones, Talcom X even flirted with now Ex-Gay Milo Yiannopoulos.

Candace Owens before being a sell out used to doxx Alt-Righters during Gamer-Gate sued her former college for racism she is now paid to pretend doesn't exist. Dave Rubins used to try desperately to suggest he was liberal even though he never gained any kind of an audience until he started to echo the Alt-Right. Joe Rogan is a pot smoking Texas Republican who is now everything he used to complain about.

Plenty of people on the left and right do this, if that what you really want to believe, but bottom line is, it's a show, they get paid to say and do what they do, Even Alex Jones admitted he was a fucking fraud.

Honestly, I don't think here snipped comments are worth this much effort. I don't have the heart to try to listen to the whole thing right now, but if there are any braver souls then godspeed.
