Why is Blizzard giving away TcG items, making it lose value

Unless I've missed something they haven't said if the Classic TBC DE items will get added to your Shadowlands collection. They will probably only be in Classic so what is the big deal? Those items would still be special in retail.

They already gave out tcg mounts before though. The riding turtle was made catchable from WoD.

I swear another item was made obtainable as well outside of the bmah but I can't recall it.

Giving away TcG pet for this charity, i read they are maybe gonna add the dark portal HS (Which is almost worth 1000 euro) for the TBC deluxe edition.
Like does Blizzard like ruining the prices of items? Or what is the point in bringing back special items that used to be required 1 specific way and now everyone just gets it?

They did this already with the riding turtle, which you can now also obtain in your Garrison afaik.

I remember buying a starter pack of the TCG back then and got that loot card of the riding turtle (still have it), could only use it on 1 character.
You could also buy pets on the BMAH, like the rocketchicken and what not that were also from the TCG.

so what they do now is not new.

I get that it's fun to collect but man you got to be careful with what you pick *to* collect. A digital ware whose availability is 100% in control by a corporation.. I would aim to to collect something else to be honest.

At least you should have the situation clear for yourself before you start with WoW collecting and accept the real possibilities of something like this happening.

There's a huge problem within the game where specific players demand to have everything that isn't available anylonger. It comes from the primal place of hating others for having something that you can't have.

This is of course amplified thanks to parents and society teaching their children that they aren't to ever accept being told no. Compensation trophies, shared birthday presents, bedrooms full of toys.

Oddly enough, lots of gamers today, even the adults, have their bedrooms loaded with toys. It's a comfort thing, just to have because they want it and want it now.. They don't even listen to their inner voice telling them no.

So here we are, making fun of others for wishing scarce, rare things stayed that way so they're more of a wonder to come across.

You think you're being clever but it shows you know nothing about the current charity. To be able to donate for the pet you have to donate through the actual charity itself. Blizzard gets none of the money and they cannot write it off.

No it's not the same in your case. The original card would still hold value regardless. In this case the original Bananas are literally worthless now.

The cards can be made identical as easily as one can make bananas identical, both would lose value at a similar pace.
