I mean... Many paladins are pretty much priests who were trained with martial weapons and combat.
"Infused", "channel"? As if there is one trick to all of it in Warcraft, whole lore is filled with exceptions and workarounds to all that - that's why there are ordinary XYZ and "speshul" prodigy lore figures. And even among ordinary, it all differs vastly.

By lore, at the very least Silver Hand Paladins are simply Priests who were trained in arms due to necessity.
It's not "lightforged" or crap like that. In reverse, if you bring Army of the Light - now there priests are lightforged, they are sure infused with light in their very veins.
That's why I'm saying trying to say there is one recipe to all this is silly, because by lore - Silver Hand Paladins are not "infused" and Lightforged Priests sure are.
I'm not even talking about Sunwalkers or Zandalari and that shit, that's its own can of worms. It's really not homogeneous shit, just like shadow practitioners are not necessarily all coming from old gods. There are really a lot of variants with different power sources for everything in Warcraft.

And chronicle states that initial Paladins of Silver Hand were knights trained to use light by Alonsius Faol - a priest. Which really, was the lore as ever anyway.
What was in particular with Arthas or with that novel is cute, but not end all be all thing for all paladins ever, which is what I am trying to explain.
You are trying to find one formula for it all, but it's not there. For all intents and purposes - Vindicators, Sunwalkers, Silver Hand Paladins, Blood Knights, Lightforged - they all get their power by different means. Some are legitimately "infused", but many are simply trained and taught.

I mean, I literally brought you Chronicle II page 153 that states how Silver Hand Paladins came to be. Which is as canon as it gets.
But sure Alonsius Faol also trained Vindicators/Sunwalkers/Blood Knights and so on, they guy sure been busy. "Paladins" are not some one homogeneous thing, one trick does all. Heck, there are not even "Paladins" beyond Silver Hand ones, if we go actual lore, it's just a specific name given by specific faction to their version of holy user warrior.

And druids can't use fel, because they are infused with nature?
No, that's because they simply do not have the interest, nor affinity, nor training for it. That is until you have that one guy/gal that can and can start a whole bunch of them, like those Fire Druids with Fandral.
Really you just can't wrap your head about the fact that warcraft universe is huge and shit is so different and freaky everywhere. It's like Priestess Delrissa using holy light and is a demon - totally canon. How? Because she can.
There is really no one-trick to all that.

The reason for this is because it would cause the majority of the Horde paladin players would switch to undead and quite frankly a good chunk of the Alliance ones would too. The lore has been established as there are several examples of them in the game already including named NPCs who are confirmed paladins and undead. Tauren should have never been made paladins before undead because undead had established proof of them while Blizzard had to force new lore to explain Tauren paladins.
There was a quote way back (way way back) that said they didn't make Night Elf Paladins because it would be so popular. But, of course after that, they made Blood Elf Paladins - and then those turned out to be really popular. I wonder what would have happened had Alliance gotten NE Palys and Horde got Undead Palys back then.

There won't be any time skip, because it would be a big risk for franchise for dubious benefit.
We will get the usual several years forward, but that all.
What would the point of a time skip even be. It isn't like much of the world actually advances in time regularly. Still can see the same kid chasing his sister in SW 15 years later while another character went from boy to king. A fire burning in the forest from 10 years ago is still burning on the same tree. All a time jump would end up being would be like a line of text "many years in the future" and then you log in and its like.. oh.. guess all these years that went by didn't get that fire though that tree.
