Will add, its for 15 minimum, can make and add to it but below 15 and it doesn't really work
Alright folks. We need to recruit. Because sometimes people have things going on in their lives and they simply can't devote the appropriate time. Sometimes they need a break. Whatever happens, we can't expect the same handful of people to be available every game, and right now we have juuuuuust enough to have good sized games. So. Let's brain storm. How can we rustle up some more interest and branch out to find people who may want to join us?
Well I'm done you can mark my game as ready my QTs are all done
I agree foxxi would be nice to have an influx of newer blood, I don't know where you would start tho
We talked about this before in the old thread, but it seems that short of just randomly PMing people and asking them to join, it doesn't seem we can get other MMO-C people to come here. The advertisements in our signatures don't seem to draw people in, and hardly anyone browses the fun stuff forum and sees the mafia game and goes "what is that?".
The hey day of MMO-C is over. It's not growing anymore. The people who are left are either hardcore WoW players who stick to the WoW subforum, or they moved on from WoW and frequent the other subforums. Either way anyone still on this forum has been here for years and has settled on which parts of the website they visit, and don't really branch out to visit the other subforums or try out new things.
I think trying to draw in other MMO-C players is a dead end (unless you want to randomly PM people). You're probably better off trying to bring in people from outside of MMO-C, like friends or people you played Among Us with or mafia players from other mafia forums (but that's a hard sell because they are already enjoying playing mafia on their forum and probably don't want to bother coming to another forum that is slowly dying just to play more mafia).
Yeah, unfortunately this site just isn't as active as it once was and a lot of people have stopped playing WoW or MMO's altogether and so they just sort of forget about his place as a result. It was really cool when we had big games with roughly thirty players, but I don't see this happening around these parts ever again. Even when we lure in a new player, it's a gamble as to whether they stick around or not. Sometimes they do, yet in other cases they vanish very quickly.
I know we used to have some of the mods join in with these games, though they've since stopped engaging as well. To be honest, when I first caught sight of these games it was due to seeing the threads show up on the new thread list on the main page. At first I sort of filtered them out as just another chat thread, but then one day I decided to click on one and made a point to join the next game...and the rest is history.
We might need to settle for smaller, quicker games. I'm not entirely against that happening because...to be honest, some players are signing up and consistently only posting once or twice per day phase. Worse yet, if they choose to lynch/kill chatty and active players then it leads to games feeling very slow. I mean, I get it - the priority should always be real world stuff, but it's definitely an enthusiasm killer.
The only thing I can really think of is maybe just agreeing to all move over to some bigger, more active site that specialises in these games. I know there's a few out there, but I'd only be willing to do that if I could bank on having some familiar faces to play with.
Another option is to maybe get in touch with some former players and see if we can lure them back, though I think a lot of them just stopped checking the site altogether so unless someone happens to be friends with them on Discord, that's probably a lost cause.
Also you have to factor in RL I have a wife and children and as much as I can sometimes free up enough time to play, sometimes life gets in the way and I could be missing for sometimes many games at a time
I considered the moving to another Mafia community, but I noticed that many of them have significantly longer day phases. Anywhere from 7-14 days. If the experiment game was any test, a lot of our players don't seem to continuously participate when days are that long, myself included occasionally.
It would be an adjustment, for sure.
I have been on mafia sites that have shorter day phases like we have. Those games were MUCH more active than ours though. It honestly was too much activity.
If we did go with another site maybe have signups here first, come up with our 10 to 15 people, and then look for an additional 10 or so players. I'm not sure what all it takes to become a game mod on those sites though.

Mafia Universe, the site that hosts the Mafia Championship, is one of those sites that has all different style games. The championship games were insane and had something like 2,500 posts per day phase (two day phases was enough for my sanity), but they also have a light game section for people that aren't as active. I haven't looked at their setup in a couple years so I'm not sure how active the site is.
Yeah I'm not sure how to get new people to participate on this website, as Val said MMOC is long past its hay day.
I've looked at other communites but as Krayzy mentioned some of them are just too bizzare. Mafia universe games are just insane. + I kinda don't want to leave this community, but I'd very much like new people as well. We've got a few new people which is nice and made the games more interesting.
That said if we all decide to move somewhere else, I'm fine with that!
Hmm... I'm not sure about making another forum accont on another website. I... Like being here lol
I don't play WoW anymore smh.
I like this idea, almost like a twitch stream when they invade other streams we gather the normal players here for the initial sign ups and then invade someone else's forums and just play yhe game there.

That way our community stays in tact and who knows we may get people coming to our forums after seeing our games
