That's a google document that someone here was making of all the "leaks" at the time. Check it out, there's close to 90 in there. And not a single one of those was correct.

The only thing that actually, truly leaked was the kyrian info, Bastion artwork like a week before or so, and the Bolvar cinematic stuff a day or two prior.
God damn, I still can't avoid laughing when I read "Wrath of the Bolvar"

Nah, big difference between "I'mma send souls to feed my master" and "I'mma create an Afterlife Army by sending warrior souls from Azeroth."

There's some real good dumb stuff in there.

It got to the point where people were just making burner accounts and posting random shit, because you'd then have like a five or six page thread of many people going "OMG this one's legit!"

It was less posting bait and more just throwing the whole chum bucket into the water.

NB4 we fight alongside the Jailer and he gets a THE SHADOWLANDS ARE FREEEEE moment.

That's probably the main reason it was popular. The idea was completely stupid, but most of the other stuff was too, just not as funny.

At least he was right about The Bolvar being a relevant character in SL.

Most leaks banked on extrapolating information we had. They had a *hint* of truth to them that made them seem more authentic.

The closest shadowlands ones involved Sylvanas dying or killing lots of people. 'Leaked' Shadowlands zones involved the Sylverian Dreamer store mount that seemed to have a connection to another realm. The funniest ones involved Sylvanas becoming the new Lich Queen.

Except not. Night elves souls ended in the maw obviously, and the night fae players are saving them during the campaign. Releasing the saved souls in ardenweald so the can have peace.

No army, no purpose, no point in all of this.

Usually you can guess the first half of the expansions story pretty accurately.
It's the second half where the next expansions story is set up that people almost never get right.

Man shoutouts to Awakenings and that really badly put together image that people said proved a world revamp.

every leak (apart from the two pictures) i saw was 98-100% false, so yeah, some of the guesswork was on point, but if there is 10 000 guesses some of them have to be at least partialy right...
and sory, but if something is presented as leak and its almost entirely false its clear its not leak but a lucky guess

Throw enough shit at a wall, and something's gonna stick purely by chance. Besides, many of the "correct" pieces were at most extrapolated form already known information. Guessing that Sylvanas was somehow involved didn't exactly take much effort.

Throw enough mud at a wall and some is bound to stick. Most of these "leaks" revolve around the following:

    - new zones
    - level cap increase
    - new raids and dungeons
    - etc

Some have a stab at specific details, such as setting, but very few come close. I am not aware of any that have predicted new systems, and those are basically the core of the game now.

Most of them were mixing lies to help keep their leaks ambiguous, so that Blizz can't really slap them with a cease and desist.

I'm already seeing it with info on the next expansion

No, they did it because they had no idea what was actually coming. The hit rate isn't anywhere close to what it should have been if they had real information.

You're just helping spread misinformation with your nonsense take here.

leaks can't be right by definition since blizzard (or any other game developer) plans change all the time, that's just how it is

which is also why they don't communicate officially long in advance

Sometimes I wonder if "leaks" that turn out to be true, were just strategically released nuggets to fuel a hype machine...

I dunno. They tend to end up getting buried under all the fakes, so i doubt they really do all that much.

More importantly, are we getting next expansion announcement within 2021?

Take...? This isn't Twitter. Nor was this the definition of a "take".

"You're wrong and I'm right" sorry you feel that way man. Don't gotta beat yourself up and act out in defense if someone dares to imply they saw something you didn't.

If we go off of how slow 9.1 is being developed, probably not. Probably won't even see 9.2 until very late 2021/very early 2022

People already name dropped it here, on Reddit, and on YouTube though.
