Not trying to derail, but there are more reasons to get a divorce than just women not being subservient to men, etc...

Anecdotal I know, but I've known at least 4 people/couples in my life to get a divorce and it had absolutely nothing to do with this. It was entirely due to them being incompatible, not a good couple, immature people who got into it too early and ended it because they were mutually unhappy.

I'm divorced, and it wasn't because my wife wasn't subservient enough.

My point wasn't that you only see divorce for that reason, it's that people who complain that divorce rates are "a bad thing" at all, that's the root of their position; that women should not have the capacity to leave abusive men.

I'm totally supportive of divorce, precisely because I know how many good reasons there are for it (having lived through the ordeal, myself).

1) The accumulation of wealth over generations has been a phenomenon almost entirely restricted to the rich since wealth has has historically meant land.
2) The existence of intergenerational poverty prior to the divorce rate climbing.
3) The increase in the divorce rate seems to be plateauing as people get married later in life and build more stable marriages as a result.
4) Your nonsense about "inherited wealth being diluted" also doesn't jive with the fact the birth rate has been declining.

This cannot "dilute wealth". Mathematically, it can't, because you're pointing to multiple relationships in one generation aand pretending that will reduce wealth passed down toto the next generation.

You should be looking at birth rates, because splitting inheritances more ways would actually produce what you claim, if inheritances were.all that mattered. But that data contradicts your theory directly, as most developed nations have sub-replacement birth rates.
