- Capitalism abhors a free market, which is why we have regulations against making dangerous things, monopolies, cartels and so on.
- A free market cannot exist for essential services, as essential services are by definition a captive market.
That's essentially my anti-capitalist rant right there. Free markets for anything beyond the basics, for anything I can say "no, I don't want or need that", go for it. Otherwise, healthcare, transport infrastructure, utilities, communications, they should come out of taxes.
- On policing, well, I don't think we should send police to beat up and shoot mentally ill people, I think they should be afforded the correct specialist help.
- A police response should be proportionate to the crime being committed - I'm not sure a broken tail light or even DUI mandates a death sentence anywhere in the west at least.
On LGBT+ rights, I think we should have the same rights, and necessary protections of those rights, as anyone else. Fundamentally, your freedom ends where mine begins, which means simply you don't get to call for a reduction in that freedom, under any circumstance. Nor do you get to single out any such group in a similar manner.
This isn't everyone should get paid the same and work toward the greater good kind of stuff.
