    Twitch no longer credible?

Twitch, the premier games streaming platform, is the embodiment of everything wrong with gaming today. It has gotten too mainstream.

The top most viewed "game" on Twitch is 'Just Chatting'... so, not a game. The platform has basically become a test of who has the most real life skills (confidence, charisma, bewbs) rather than in-game skills... The top 1% streamers are so detached from the norm that it's like real-life capitalism. Okay, it is real-life capitalism. The top 1% are making millions, while most of the streamers are not even getting a 10th of that viewership. Celebrities start up Twitch and get an instant 1k viewers, while hard-working people streaming for months are struggling to break 20 viewers.

Has Twitch become a microcosm of everything wrong with gaming today?

You got weirdos on it treating it like pornhub doing weird ass ASMR crap like making licking noises to an ear piece mic while wearing a horse head mask, and dressed provocatively... a platform primarily used by kids and teens!

The platform should strictly be for gaming and creation (tutorials and Arts), and everything else banned.

But Twitch has a history of double standards when it comes to their own rules...

They really need to censor this platform. It's disgusting. No point even comenting on this. Everyone knows what is there.

What do you mean, 'no longer'?

Not trying to turn this into a sexuality discussion, just trying to highlight that luck is the deciding factor of success on that platfom.

Why is gaming becoming mainstream a problem? You haven't explained yourself very well. Are you complaining about Twitch or the gaming industry?

The rules work pretty well if you exclude attractive women making a ton of money for their site

Edit: LUL wait, do they seriously have a gambling section now?

Both. Twitch is an example of what's wrong with the gaming industry.

Games becoming mainstream is a huge problem. Investors flocked to it, and now it's about spreadsheets and not creative and innovative -- fun -- design.

It's been a long time since Twitch stopped being about e-sports and turned into a platform for gaming "personalities" to hand out opinions and foster outrage for clicks.

Honestly this idea that hard work is worth anything on its own sorely needs to die.
You are either effective or you are not.

Some people are effective by working hard, some blaze past them by achieving more while barely lifting a finger; there are many wildly different roads to Rome.

But the point is not in taking the harder one, but in taking the one that will get you where you need to be.

And in acknowledging that very few people genuinely have access to the same roads one should find that a bit of kindness is a necessity in such a world; some people only have harsh, unclear or unusual roads available to them.

But to whine that some people have access to a good road is utter stupidity unless their road directly impedes yours or others, which is very much not the case with Twitch.
This is a signature of an ailing giant, boundless in pride, wit and strength.
Yet also as humble as health and humor permit.

Furthermore, I consider that Carthage Slam must be destroyed.

Gaming arguably hit the mainstream in the mid-90s when Sony released the Playstation and made it a "cool" accessory for teens and adults. As for investors, Kotick bought Activision back in 1990 and all through the 80s there were studios shovelling out crap to make money.

The gaming industry has always had devs pushing out fun and innovative designs and it's always had investors looking to exploit a formula for mass appeal and big profits, and somewhere is the happy medium where games are fun and interesting but also receiving a level of investment to reach a higher potential. Just like films/TV and music.

The way I see it, Twitch is a streaming platform. It gained its popularity because of videogames, which, being an interactive, and often online, medium, is logical. But people have since created all kinds of content around the concept of live streaming, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I think they should definitely separate certain kinds of content (bewbs) into its own thing. Possibly even a different website. Use the existing restricted content rules for the current platform, and take all the softcore stuff into a Twitch-branded camsite, which could then allow more explicit content, and earn them a ton of money along the way.

They're trying to have their cake and eat it at the same time with unclear, often hypocritical rulings: "Sponsors wouldn't like us to allow porn into our platform, but thousands of people throwing money at girls in bikinis is fine".

Other than that, I have no issue with people streaming themselves chatting, studying, eating, drawing or whatever.

What tha hell are you guys on about?

Yes, ofcourse, the most famous ones are entertaining the monkeys of society...thats just how the world works.

A good streamer is an entertaining one.
I personaly like watching "wholesome", "cute", "fun", "positive" ones of the games i play.

There are plenty of them...streams that give out positive vibes! Cuteness! Friendship! Laughs! Funny!

You can even do something amazing i sometimes do...
Go to a low view stream...and talk to them and interact...is fun...is like...very fun talking to random people live...HECK sometimes i even end up playing with them.

This is some low tier bait. If you knew anything about twitch you'd know it's been a "just chatting" platform since its inception. Even as far back as when it was justin.tv, the wow section acted as a glorified just chatting, this ain't nothing new for neither twitch or the "gaming industry".

In other words, YOU HAD TO ACTUALLY PLAY GAMES.

Why are you guys so quick to defame the girls? The Chosen Few guys are pulling in 10k viewers by "reacting" to video clips. Twitch is so unfair.

Have you started streaming or something and is not going good?

    Be entertaining

You are not an entertaining person? Time to pretend you are someone else.
    Thats how "they" do it

You are welcome for my wise words.

Ive given this much thought actually and from watching famous streamers...at least...in my perception...i see them being something they are not all the freaking time.
I dont think many people have the luxury to just "be yourself" on stream and be famous.

You have to become someone you are not normally...

From my perspective...at least thats what it seems to be happening
