That's actually wrong. It's MCU canon and we will prolly see stuff of it in Doctor Strange 2 and beyond.

We might see some of it in Doc Strange 2...but the odds of anything making a real impact in the MCU are pretty low. These are all alternate earths.

The multiverse has cracked wide open, and I guess we will see the Secret Wars as a finale to the next 5-10 years or so similiar to Infinity War/Endgame. Saying you can ignore this stuff is like saying "the ultimate comics won't matter to comic-616" back when they started them.

The thing of it is you could have completely ignored the Ultimate Universe and it wouldn't matter at all. The whole reason the Ultimate Universe doesn't exist anymore is because most readers did ignore it. The only thing that got any real traction was Spider-Man...and the most recent "Secret Wars" was just an excuse to bring him (and a few other characters) into the 616. The Ultimate Universe matters about as much to 616 as Hyperion's Universe does and even less than Spider-Gwen's.

And like you just said, you guess it's going to be important.

I kinda like it for now. It's like the MCU actually had an Art Direction. Remembering the trailer, I think it's gonna be the same for every short, though.

makes sense with the multiverse fast approaching. who wouldn't want to see Kang the Conqueror getting punched in the face by Captain Carter?

First Episode is out now ... and honestly it was meh. It wasn't bad, but no where as good as the Live Action series.

Fun to watch but if this is the quality we are going to get, this series isn't going to be very strong.

My biggest gripe is the animation style. The episode was fun overall though.

I think my issue with episode 1 is mostly just that isn't all that much of a new story. A few changes, an Amazonian Carter, and then mostly just the same story stuff. Which is kinda expected, I guess. The universe still unfolds, just with those differences.

That and there being no bullet wounds lol

    Watcher looks good, at least.

The biggest problem this series will have is Disney+

What I mean is that Disney forces a pg rating on it and a lot of the best stories, like marvel zombies or the ultimates, can’t be done unless they have an R rating next to them

I probably missed something but first they stole the tesseract from Red Skull and suddenly he has it back?

Nevermind. Stark uses the Tesseract to fuel the HYDRA Stomper.

So, with both Steve and Bucky alive who'll be the Winter Soldier?

First episode was decent. Similar enough to Cap's movie to be comforting, different enough to feel fresh. Art style took a bit of getting used to, but the action was fluid and fun, with Peggy casually killin' fools left and right. Gave me a good chuckle. I'm surprised and a bit sad that it didn't end with her saying she had a date.

This was really meh. More or less Captain America The First Avenger with minor differences and told in 30 min instead of 120 min. Best part was that some of the actors reprised their roles

I’m expecting this to be the way most of these play out. Most comic “what if” stories are pretty meh, with a few notable exceptions.

I think if people are wanting hero death porn (marvel zombies, injustice type vein) they are going to be very disappointed.

Just wish they would tell new stories instead. Have Captain Carter do a mission we've never seen etc. But the zombie episode might be really good. Only time will tell.

They actually have a good number of actors reprising their movie role.

This episode Steve Rogers and Red Skull I think were the only major speaking characters not voiced by the person playing them in the movies. Everyone else was voiced by the actor who played them live action it seems.

Apparently this is going to be true with the reveal voice cast for the series. I wouldn't really call it some of the actors reprised their role as it appears right now it is most are.

Ross Marquand played Red Skull in IW and Endgame.

Yea but again, it’s on Disney+ and limited to being pg where as the comics are hard R, and any decent zombie film is hard R

Gonna be essentially zombies in the most kid friendly way imaginable
