But... aren't manga sales sharply on the rise in the US, with i think western comics dropping (not sure on that one though)? Not sure if i'd call that "murica cause they have a problem with non-western art".

But anyways, how the fuck is this obvious bait and troll thread still open? Do the mods only look in here every few months or so?

Comics have been dead in the West for 20 years. X-Men was cancelled for "low sales" in 1969 but it was still selling almost 250,000 copies per issue per month. Marvel was selling a million books a month. Today, a "good run" is selling 5,000 books total. We're talking a 95% reduction in sales compared to the good 'ole days. Marvel will reboot a new line, and the first issue sells "okay" due to people checking it out, and then the sales decline with each issue. Usually by the fifth issue, the comic is cancelled before it even finishes, because so few people continue to buy the series. The comics doesn't have the talent. You don't have talented people like Jim Shooter or Jack Kirby or John Buscema anymore. Nobody cares about crappy Hulk reboot #47. The MCU wasn't popular because of superheroes; it was popular because the movies were decent Hollywood stuff and had huge marketing budgets. Marvel filed for bankruptcy and is only being kept alive so that the IP of the characters can be harvested to make movies. As a comic book company, the brand has been dead for decades.

The problem with comics isn't that people don't want them. The popularity of manga here in the America is proof of that. The problem is that American comics aren't fulfilling the desires of the public. American comics serve only one market: superheroes. People would rather wait for a translation of their favorite manga, rather than buy yet another Superman reboot comic series. There is a manga for everyone. You have highschool slice of life. You have fetish manga. You have epic shounen adventure stories. You have sword and sorcery manga like Berserk. You have romantic comedies. You certainly don't see any romance comics coming out in America. The art of manga is also more appealing than whatever is coming out of Western comic houses nowadays. Americans might enjoy movies derived from comics, but 99% of Americans don't read comics anymore.

Furries are anthropomorphic animals, or humanoid animals if that makes it clearer.

All of the examples you listed ARE furries, there is nothing subjective about it.

    Also, Vulpera are foxes.
Hence "Vulpera", as the word 'Vulpes' means fox.
Are worgen really furries though? I thought the whole point of furries is they wanted to be a non human humanoid creature. A worgen is a human that can transform into a non human creature. Wouldn't a furry werewolf be like a squirrel person that can change into a wolf person or something like that?

Also isn't a furry the person and not the anthropomorphic anima itself?

Nah, I like Japanese stuff, easy escape from the extreme cynicism, sarcasm and edgelording of American content nowadays. Also don't have to worry about the humor being fucking internet memes.

Dont bother, people here are uncapable of understanding what furry is. And yes, it is name of the fandom, not the anthropomorphic animals.

Indeed. The Vulpera and the Pandaren aren't furries but the players who play them CAN be. WoW has a lot of races for the furry fandom to choose from. FFXIV could do a lot better in that department since they only have the Hrothgar.

If we could get one more race, I'd rather it be something completely different, like maybe a race of magitek/clockwork androids like the Yukes from the Crystal Chronicles series. IIRC the only other MMO that did playable robots was Wildstar with the Mechari. For Yukes you wouldn't even have to create a male and female model if you wanted to so it'd be more plausible than a race with male and female models.

Ignoring the whole furry vs not furry tangent, @Ron Burgundy isn't being genuine because the last 2 threads (and posts since he doesn't seem to actually engage in discussion) is him complaining about not being able to log in to FF14 anymore so it feels more like this is him throwing a fit.

It doesn't help that we're getting stuff like this:

The more I look at this thread the worse it gets...it's literally a train wreck that cars keep crashing into with an occasional plane falling from the sky and somehow a fucking submarine...

It's like Sharknado, The Purge, The Mask, and The Fast and the Furious decided to have a crossover movie...it's so bad but I can't look away...

Can we have a mod lock this for the sake of our fucking sanity...whatever's left in this hellhole

    Wh...what? B...but...

    It is.

This thread was great, truly great. I don't know if the dude who thinks WoW races are somehow different from all the furry porn on furaffinity aside from underwear is an absolute genius troll or a complete moron. If I can't tell whether you're an idiot or a brilliant troll, then you've won. You've won the internet, good sir, my hat is off to you.

    With love,

A former troll, who is told old for that shit

I wrote in another forum to get a mod over here. It'll probably get me banned because we're not supposed to mention moderation but it'll be worth it.

I can understand why people like the game but it has never been for me. I've tried it again recently and I feel sorta the same. It's just too much, it doesn't appeal to me. Honestly the biggest issue for me is names and lore. I don't much mind the gameplay and art style. I am trying to follow along for a "story rich" and I can already tell the names are too freaking crazy for me to keep track. Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn is where I was kinda like "okay I can't do this" this is a starting character I meet and I'm already checking out. As I go looking at character names on a wiki I am just...confused. I mean I'm not saying some characters in the warcraft universe aren't crazy but they just flow better for me. I KNOW I am not going to be able to keep things straight in the FFXIV story so it just doesn't appeal to me. It doesn't click, and that's okay. Seems like a great game, just not for me. I hope it's success get the people hamstringing the WoW devs to wake the fuck up.

EDIT: after checking more of this thread, I've seem to have stepped in something horrible lol
