Good lord, was I the only one that watched the Elliot Rodger videos.
Tell me how that was anyone's fault but his.

He thought he was a gift to us and COULD NOT see how WE didn't see that.
Most of the vids are exactly that. Him explaining his wealth and looks and being baffled by our disinterest.

Trying to blame society for him is beyond fucked.

Reminds me of the girl who shot Warhol.
    Her manifesto was called S.C.U.M
The society for cutting up men.

It's the closest thing I can think of to the incels.
And once again, was all her fault. Not society

In one post on the incel forum from July 2019, Genco allegedly described shooting a group of women with a water gun full of orange juice and likened it to Rodger's mass shooting.

'I put some orange juice in a water gun, I was planning to spray some foids and couples like ER (Rodgers) did, when I finally did do it, it was ER's birthday and I didn't even know that,' he wrote.

'Felt like I spiritually connected to the saint on that day... I drove up to them saying hi and they didn't even look up, they just went 'uhuh' so they get sprayed in the f**ing face. I suggest it to all incels, extremely empowering action.'

I wonder about this, did he actually do this or was he just making shit up? If so, did he not get caught? Seems like if he had, it might have been a point where he could have gotten some serious help.

No, you hear about incels writing manifestos, plotting to kill women (and others), talking about how they are denied their due. How everything is someone else's fault.
To be as fair as humanly possible...even if there were those who attempted the former, you'd still only hear about the latter. Stories of people trying to help each other not be terrible aren't as sexy as stories of people plotting (or carrying out) acts of senseless violence.

"Incel" is the term they chose. It's just another incarnation of victim culture.

You mean besides Jordan Peterson and Connal? Nothing says we're an evolved, non-sexist society like advocating for women to be distributed to misogynists to appease them, like throwing virgins into volcanoes. Also, they need to be virgins, thx.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to give these mandated girlfriends any frame of reference for their sexual disappointment.

I actually really enjoy this metaphor. We have way too many used needles around these parts..

I mean...that volcano part is far better fate than the former. I'd pick that option any time of the day if I wasn't already too "impure and tainted".

Maybe, but you'd also hear about the ones trying to do good and attempting to bring attention to the fact that most of them are doing good. Like many maligned groups of people, the world isn't going to pay attention to your average shit, you have to make an active effort to get more attention on the good than the bad.

Seconded. I'd take the volcano in a heartbeat.

More on topic, I do agree with the people saying that there needs to be more done for children before they go down this path to begin with. So many people use 'kids will be kids' to hand wave away some truly gross and awful treatment of people, then wonder why those that were treated that way become angry and disillusioned adults. Yeah, at the point at which someone is 21 and plotting to shoot people it's probably too late to do anything to fix, but there's a hell of a lot of time and opportunity before that to intervene.

I long for the day that mental health is handled with the same respect and care that physical health is in non-US countries.

Agreed. I think regular counseling for everyone from a relatively early age would probably be good for everybody.

    And thirded.

    I strongly disagree.

No one is born evil. Society makes us who we are.

No. "We" don't apologize for rapists, murderers and worse.
We freely make our own choices. And how we decide is what makes "us" what we are.

Society is what defines evil and good. Those concepts can only be understood within the societal context and are meaningless without it. So yes, noone is born evil.

Never understood why they blame women rather than work on themselves. Can women be in the incel group, presumably they can be involuntarily celibut?

Suppose I'd have googled if I was anything more than vaguely interested

I looked into that some time back. IIRC, they exist in a couple of circles but they're generally a lot less violent and creepy than their male counterparts. Some of them seemed to hate more on "normie" women rather than on men. But then there was still plenty of "We deserve to have kind, well-read, understanding boyfriends that treat us like queens, make $100k a year, and also look like Nick Jonas. All other men are scum." kinda sentiments floating around too. Just the same unrealistic standards that the dude incels believe that they're entitled to.

There's some subreddit that I stumbled across that was full of em, but I can't quite recall what the name of it was.

I disagree with that statement as well. You might want to open your mind a bit and see the world outside your bubble.

Oh yeah, that was probably it. It sounds like it got axed sometime ago though.

EDIT: I think I was also mixing in some stuff that I saw in the "Female Dating Strategy" subreddit, which isn't technically incels. Though they do share some DNA and they sound nearly as crazy.
