I have personally not bothered with flawless runs just yet, I could probably do it with a bit more effort, but my time is better spent waiting for more research upgrades to be done in addition to a bit of extra gearing.
ye... but its source of conduit upgrades . so some people who are even semi-serious about game dont really have choice but to run multiple flawless weekly since its not guaranteed drop on first clear. ;ets say you have 30 conduits to upgrade - that 60 upgrade items you need to play optimaly if you are unlucky. 60 upgrades is 120k resources in korthia. better to run it weekly to save yourself ton of farming there.

You don't need a previous ranks to upgrade to rank 5 or 6. The only difference is soul ash is include in the cost instead of just soul cinders. So it is a negligible cost to change your legendary to a new slot if you were planning to upgrade to rank 5 or 6 anyways. It really is a non issue because as you are gaining soul cinders you are also gaining soul ash.

It sounds like Torghast just simply isn't for you. That is fine. It won't be something everyone likes. But it is hardly that bad and if all you wan to do is get some soul cinders as quickly as possible running lower then layer 12 is always the best way. A layer 9 can be done in less then 20 mins.

Lol. There are other sources of conduit upgrades that you won't be farming Torghast for them. For someone that keeps calling the system, and game, garbage you sure spend a lot of time thinking about new ways to hate on the game. Weird huh?

Is the drop chance of the conduit upgrade higher on floor 12 btw?
Or could you, in theory, just farm floor 9, which is much easier and faster.

that all "depends" - in theory floor 9 is faster but in reality geared players with fully developed TK only want to farm flawless on floor 12 - which means often floor 12 is faster then 9 when done in proper team because on floor 9 you will meet only undergeared people with 0 TK.

solo ? for sure - but we are already at the point when good playrs farm it more efficiently in groups. and each week it will be easier as people will push more points into TK + get more gear from mythic raids/ GV

Thing is, mob killing speed isn't the only thing that matters. You still need to fill up the completion bar and it takes the same amount of time to break jars/free souls on Floor 12 as it does on Floor 9. So the run does take longer, but not *that* much longer if you're aiming for 5 stars. And higher conduit drop rate makes up for few minutes, easily.

Because it allows you to choose which bonuses you want to go for. It enables more varied playstyles due to the scoring system.

It is because players set the prices and everyone knows they can make a large profit in the early days.

The inflated prices are no Blizzards fault. Because even with a higher drop rate of materials the prices would still be inflated and eventually drop to a price that players are willing to pay. On my server the price for the 262 ring is 40k below the US average and 60k below the all time high price. It also has the same price as the 249 ring. The price is always set by the players and it comes down when other players are no longer willing to set that price.
Cool of you to figure out what supply and demand means...
Blizzard decides the supply, thus, making the price higher than it needs to be.
If they doubled the supply... The price would plummet...
Is this really such a hard concept for you to grasp?

depends how many ah goblins you have on your server. on some all of 262 pieces are sold but the same 2-3 people who completly control market reseting price whenever anyone new comes into play .

and blizzard sadly does nothing to prevent it.

This thing is really weird .... Last time we did it in a guild group, took severals traps, died several times, several anima powers x2/x3+ ... and we did 235 points ? wtf

Traps is only 10 points lost (it's binary - you either take 0 or you can take as many as you want). Deaths: with the right perks you get some for free. No idea what's the max score, but seen myself scoring ~280-290 sometimes. If you're quick about it, you can still do 235 with deaths.

i think people underestimate speed of run . what i noticed that quick runs regardless of multiple deaths , floors with onli 92% etc are still scored much higher as long as oyu have high uptime on enrage %

yes speed of clear matters a lot - completly unlike what people in begiing claimed.

it is timed clears. and timer matters a lot.

It depends on your playstyle. If you want to do safe, you can - and still score 5 gems with 0 time bonus. All you have to do is: clear ~100%; not die above the free death counter; score multiple bonus points. That's it. And I like the design, gives you choices.
Worst you can do is take an indecisive approach: clear a lot, but not all; die randomly on risky pulls, and still linger about for too long; miss many bonus points. But that's simply a description of an unskillful run, so why should you be rewarded for that.

Pretty much all servers seem to have some form of "armor mafia" that controls them, but even so, if the availability of "mats" where double or triple, a lot more of the average joe's could make and put them up, heavily influencing the supply while keeping the demand relatively constant (sure, with lower price, more people will obviously buy so demand goes up, but that will even out fairly quickly)
There's zero reason stuff should cost so much, even initially This is world of warcraft, not world of gold-farming.
