I fail to see what the issue here is. The Cosby suite is unfortunate timing and Kotaku doing click bait, they're drinking at Blizzcon which is ... Normal, they always have and had been known to. The group chat may be an offender, but if what Dave said on twitter is true then it's really poor sexual jests. It makes the most sense, but people will immediately jump to grooming without any context - same for the Cosby things.

Or I'm wrong and they totally made it routine to gather girls and fuck them in the room, we probably will never know.

too be fair the suite is probably the least egregious thing to be brought to light about this whole thing. not a good look but certainly not the most damming thing by far.

Where the fuck do you think HR departments came from? Do you know even know the fucking history of how they came about?

Those women are the reason there are HR departments at all. Because they dealt with real harassment, not someone violating your safe space because a word you heard randomly bothered you. It's ridiculously ignorant how fucking entitled these people think they are. You don't like that company? Leave. It is an at will state, that means you "CHOOSE" to fucking work there. None of these fucking people know anything about HR or how the real world works.

HR has never existed for anything but to cover the companies ass. as this case points out it's pretty much fucking useless to actually curb bad behavior.

oh yes, soooo entitled to *checks note's* not be subject to sexual harassment. like, seriously the only one acting entitled here is you. saying you need to shut up or go somewhere else to work in the face of sexual harassment is such an entitled and bratty worldview but of course it's a common mindset among people who have never had to deal with harassment and the fallout around it themselves. like, seriously what does it matter to you that these people want a better work environment? is that not something we should, I don't know, expect at the place we work? to be treated with some semblance of dignity?

No they absolutely would not have. They just wouldn't say anything because they weren't allowed.

You think abusing others after being abused yourself is being less of a jerk thing to do than trying to invalidate an entire argument? My point was that clearly being abused doesn't mean you are a saint. To deny someone else because they are someone you don't like is absolutely despicable especially when you are trying to be the moral high road.
Using being abused as an excuse to be a jerk to others is the definition of toxic. Furthermore, I've dealt with plenty of people like that guy in the past. They are victim blamers and will lie to try and prove that their comments can't be countered because "Yeah that happened to me too."

False equivalency. This isn't a conspiracy. There was a 2 year investigation.

    Lol

It's beyond hilarious to see people speak about things they don't know what they're talking about. There is an insane amount of information about how women changed the landscape of HR in america. But instead of looking to the past, to fix the issues we're facing now. Children just bitch and moan and cry about someone saying a bad word.

what is this gatekeeping bullshit you keep peddling about how they're not doing it the way YOU want them to? as if you're some authority on the subject? they went to HR, HR did nothing, so they went to the state of California, and the state did a two year investigation into the matter and they found enough evidence they they felt they could go to court with it.

The fact that you think HR takes care of employees in this day and age is LAUGHABLE. HR protects their bosses, not the employees. HR is NOT your friend. And the fact that you are trivializing this entire thing and turning it into "these employees are just overly sensitive and need to grow up" is pretty vile.

Considering we found out recently that Afrasiabi was fired due to sexual harassment and other nasty shit, I don't think it's a conspiracy at all.

The Cosby Suite thing is almost certainly an ironic coincidence since they'd been using the same suite at that hotel for years, and didn't mention it again after the avalanche of allegations against him came out in 2014.

Cosby had been accused multiple times going back decades, but it really wasn't common knowledge until 2014. Those guys were no more or less aware of his behavior than any of us were at the time.

Either way, doesn't change what they used the room for, or that all the guys in the "Cosby Crew" were cool with what went on. Cool enough with it to post photos and joke about it casually on social media, anyway.

True but that doesn't mean every single other person around him was a creep, rapist or did sexual harassment. Can they be? Potentially. Tolerating his actions? Well, that's different / probably true, at least to some extent.

It's the most damning thing for people immediately clicking on it, and if they don't read into it much or ignore the dates - will assume it's to do with modern Cosby knowledge. I highly doubt they knew back in 2013 about the allegations, before it was popularized in almost every news site and station, let alone social media.

“Back in the day” - Brilliant.

And if they look back on they treatment they received now and realise they were being harassed / abused and decide they’re not happy about it? They way they were treated was never ok.

Even as a privileged male there must be times when you’ve laughed or brushed off how you’ve been treated or treated someone only to look back later and feel it wasn’t right or acceptable.

Depending on what these so called demands actually mean they can be completely unrealistic.
No - workers should not get a say in who is hired.
No - you don’t have the right to n or what your colleague makes.
I honestly do not know what they mean by auditing HR and other company processes
