why is no one playing survival. its insanely strong right now

then in pvp youre basically a warrior with a pet and ranged abilities.


it seems either people dont know how to play it or they have yet to realize how strong survival is right now and its being kept a secret by survival players. seriously try it.

Probably because many guilds have a glut of melee, and don’t want any more.

You don't use them period. However only the big focus spenders are melee only, a lot can still be done at range if necessary. And Aspect of the Eagle is a CD to use all your abilities at range for a short time.

cause it isn't fun for most people. the people in charge of class design have no clue what they are doing with hunter. most people just stick to bm or mm right now since that is roughly still the class they signed up for. there's a reason hunters used to be the class with the most players and hasn't since legion.

Min maxxers are gonna hop on whatever is strong but I know personally when I play hunter it's because I want to play a ranged class, not melee. I have my warrior for that.

Source for topping the dps charts? Maybe in keys but certainly not raids as far as I can tell.
I will agree it's absurdly fun in PvP but raids, nah. Pretty sure Survival is one of the weakest melee in terms of raw damage and utility.

Hunter fantasy is mostly connected to the bow and being a ranged dps. It just feels weird for people to play it as melee.

And then you have the meta reasons, like it being hard for melee to get into groups or have spots in raids.

Nah, for those two ranged attacks you apparently summon a hand crossbow... For no reason and from some unknown pocket. Yeah it's wierd. But a bit like the Outlaw pistol I suppose.

I like it yes, but its not insanely strong, its middle of the pack now, which is a good spot. You can do good in bgs, thats true and its decent in PvE for sure!

It has little to do with performance. The vast majority of hunters play the class to play ranged, specifically focused around the bow or gun.

Survival goes against the biggest draw of the class itself to go melee. You yourself put it best, it feels like a warrior with a pet. If I wanted to be a warrior, I would be.

I respect that Blizz wanted to expand the class fantasy, but they went about it in a terrible way and Survival will never be popular regardless of how it performs.

It's because they can't make the spec too strong or you'd have everyone whining that they're forced to play a melee spec. People can't just play what they enjoy they can only play what's best

I don't care what's strongest, I care about what I found fun. for me that's beast mastery. ranged attacks without having to stand still (which sets it apart from the casters) and a pet to tank when I'm solo... I've got other characters for melee and I find ranged more fun anyway
