Exactly. Of course there are gonna be bullshit reports too (too many involved sides with their interests), but it was obvious to everyone with rational thinking that "students" have not changed much. All the latest information and their own actions just confirm it. Biggest difference is that they have obviously learned from some of their mistakes and are not trying to do everything at once, but gradually, cementing their power first. Killings in centre of Kabul will came way after those in remote rural places where no one can report.

Former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster on Tuesday is railing against the February 2020 Doha agreement setting the timeline from a U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, calling the Trump administration’s deal a “surrender to the Taliban.”

    ...

“We must stop pretending that our surrender to the Taliban in February 2020 and subsequent concessions to that terrorist organization — which strengthened our enemies and weakened our Afghan allies — were not the principal reasons for a lost war and its consequences,” said Mr. McMaster, who serve barely more than a year as Mr. Trump’s top security aide before resigning under pressure in April 2018.

    ...

But Mr. McMaster said the bilateral deal left the U.S.-backed Afghan government without a seat at the table, resulting in a significant blow to Afghan resolve in the face of the Taliban offensive this year.
And in today's issue of, "This was all kicked off with a really, really, really bad deal that tied Biden's hands and, while he's still partially responsible, places most of the blame on the Trump administration and their agreement.", we have former NatSec advisor HR McMcaster, who was forced out for not being a mindless sycophant, pointing out exactly how damaging the deal was both to the Afghan government and the US efforts to extricate ourselves from that boondoggle.
