It's too bad about SaltedFFXIV. It's a very useful site for class guides.
Hope someone takes over or someone else makes a new one.
Gamerscape is my substitute for wowhead. It tells you where things come from and what they are for. Pretty much the same.

Square Enix runs their own database that's pretty decent. You can access it by google.

I think The Balance discord recently made a VERY beta site version for their guides. From the comments on reddit I'd say it needs a fair bit work, but even the creators said it was rough for now.

Icy Veins is making forays into such a thing, and the Balance is also starting to get a website off the ground and running.
Val's post with all those links is a good start. Bit obnoxious with how info is spread to high heaven for this game, but I also remember the days of pouring over the EJ forums trying to sort out how to spec my characters in WoW.
