How fcked is Blizzard as a company?

All their IP's are going downhill faster then they ever were. New players are rarely joining due all lawsuits and blizzard not even trying to promote any of their games.

WoW is still their dominant IP even tho it has been hit by a massive decline in players (Blizzard own fault for milking their IP's with 0 love to it) but does show that Blizzard as a company itself is not standing strong.

And it might hit a point where it either become ALOT smaller company or it will just die off.

Trust is gone, loyalty is gone, their proper developers are mostly gone.

So are we gonna see a new era where Blizzard is gonna be out the spotlight as one of the biggest game developers?

A large chunk of their "proper" developers, high ranks, and big names who have left, was the reason the company is in this problem in the first place. Leaving the company having to rebuild a lot of damage.

Else, this thread is either A: In the wrong section, or B: "WoW is dying" topic.

Who knows but for now the legal saga continues with Blizz's chief attorney quitting.

Well, she's most likely gone because she's not done her duty, just like the 8+ HR employees who got fired, as well as their boss.

Sadly, HR employees have 0 influence on the game direction though, So content wise it brings 0 changes.

All of their projects are in development hell and people in key positions keep leaving the company. That being said, afaik they still sit on a fat wad of cash, so they just need to pull their fingers out of their asses and make games again.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

I mean its going down the drain. Recent things haven't helped but its been going on for a long long time. The company cannot seem to produce much of anything anymore. The time scales between patches and content is just insane in most its games and it is a company with very few active IPs. I mean they basically shut down two of them to maintenance mode in Heros and Starcraft. Hearthstone is relatively simple production wise. Overwatch doesn't get a whole lot anymore even with the squeal in the works. I am sure it will release and get just about nothing its whole life span besides things they can stick in a shop. So really the only major product they have to create anything for is WoW and its been a production nightmare from the looks of it.

They were a great company. They still can do great things. But they got fat and lazy with success. The cycle that got them to that point has continued. So just fatter and lazier. At this point I reckon they are either completely creatively bankrupt or on the verge.

They do indeed not have anything to do with content but had everything to do with the problems within the company, by not doing their job. Just like a lot of the big developers recently leaving, as well as high ranked (ex)employees who also fucked up and abandoned ship instead of trying to clean up the shit they made.

New players are still joining. They promote their games. Your poll is biased in all of the responses towards the answers you are fishing for in that Blizzard is doomed. Blizzard won't die off. It likely won't even shrink. It is still a major factor of Activision Blizzard and the only non-COD development going on outside of mobile games (King).

A lil fucked, but they'll continue to sell well. Diablo 4 is likely going to sell 25m+ copies, WoW expansions always do well & 10.0 will likely do well as well, HS still prints money for little effort, and there's no need to waste resources on SC (sad) & HotS anymore. OW2 will likely sell like mad as well.

People will buy their stuff no matter what.

Nearly a year into Shadowlands and only two raids have been released. Can't wait to see how this dumpster fire culminates

It's really up to Bliz and the new people who are hired or promoted how the company is doing 5+ years from now. I mean if they make **** product then they will continue to slide into oblivion. If they make good products things will turn around in a year or two. I think Wow is on its own trajectory where it will continue to slowly lose subscribers but do well enough to stay p2p with a rather long content drought leading up to 10.0.

Considering that Blizzard is flushing out the turds now, it has a chance to brighten up in the future as certain people choose to leave before being implemented further, or are fired. The company has a good recipe to fix up if they just start communicating with their player base again, even while the drama is being tackled. World of Warcraft is, after all, a great tool for social interaction, story building, and money-making.

    Lets go one by 1

"All their ips are going downhill faster then they ever were"

not even close to true but ok. We literally have the qauterly earning reports, overwatch has gone down but that is pretty self explanitory, people waiting for the next one.

"New players are rarely joining" where the fuck you getting your information? cause i see tons of new people all the time in guide chat asking for help learning the game.

"Blizz not even trying to promote any of their games" except you know.. .the adverts that still run on youtube and TV but sure.

"Wow is still their dominant IP" no its not, it hasent been for a long time.

"Massive decline in players" i mean of course, but thats pretty typical.

rest is just subjective shit talking.

Aren't their stock and everything in a MASSIVE decline? When was last time you saw a legit promotion of any of their games? Outside their website/battle.net app.

That is the issue when you reach a point where all the skilled people leave the company. You can't make games if you got 0 people that can pull the rope to the endgoal.

They are just basically clueless (It feels like) and it shows on how slow content is being made and how badly it kinda is compared to how much time they had.

Let us be honest though Gehco, Oldskool Blizzard had this name under them. Activision has this not. It is still Activision Blizzard.
With big change it will just start over and people this time are sick of it and just leave.
