Ashen Hallow variation for next XPAC!

Love this ability! Would like for them to keep it somehow, maybe by calling it Empowered Consecration, or something along those lines! The design would just be a giant consecration that does the same thing Ashen Hallow does with some tuning done. If you make it a baseline Holy ability, it might be wise to nerf it a bit from the current AH iteration.

In terms of looks, have it look like the consecration the first boss in Battle of Dazar’Alor dropped? Kind of like that church-glass windowpane style?

    Any other thoughts/suggestions?

I take advantage of playing Venth pally now because I feel like this ability will never be back in future xpacs.
I could see the beloved Kyrian Divine Toll staying in-game beyond SL.

more likely they will make Blessings of Seasons baseline rather than AH or DT.

AH and DT have too high an affect on HPS and DPS, even if it mainly burst.

BoS would allow them to give us group support options while limiting burst DPS/HPS
The Right isn't universally bad. The Left isn't universally good. The Left isn't universally bad. The Right isn't universally good. Legal doesn't equal moral. Moral doesn't equal legal. Illegal doesn't equal immoral. Immoral doesn't equal illegal.

    Have a nice day.

I think that would great! Makes the class return to their roots of being a true support class. Maybe a return of blessing of might, kings, wis, and maybe a new one or a re-work of the above mentioned blessings.

I really wish consecration had any use aside from flavour, so i wouldn't be opposed to this idea OP

If it ever made it's way into the next expansion, I could really only see it being a talent row option to be honest. Baseline is out of the question for sure.

What other options to choose from in that row? I'm not sure if the current ones would be "strong" or "attractive" enough to warrant choosing over AH, unless maybe Divine Toll.

How sad if covenants end up being just a long drawn out preview of a future talent row for each class.

Gameplay wise ashen is the most boring of all covenant paladin abilities, hopefully blizzard will choose other one(s) to go core/talent after this expac.

I agree. Jumping to 12k dps on tyrannical bosses and beating all dps is terrible, I hate it.

I think they mostly get rid of expansion abilities. We probably won't see it. But yeah it's a good one.

If you play for the big numbers you should try a calculator, you’ll go crazy with what it can show…

I would rather have Divine Toll tbh. I just love the ability for both Holy and Protection (I don't play Retribution, so I can't speak for that spec). I don't know how I'll play Paladin after this expansion if they remove Divine Toll

I play for big numbers where they don't belong, I like oddities in games where normally everything is cookie cutter. I know you went Kyrian cause you need help holding that trash mob aggro and so do the most people it seems, but Venth prot pally is too much fun to pass up. And fun seems to be a rare thing in WoW now.
You should probably keep your opinions to yourself, isn't that what you are good at?

What a strange take to have.

It's fine if you enjoy doing single target damage, but Divine Toll is far superior for damage in AoE in general considering how often it's up especially after the soulbind CD reduction, it's not even about trash aggro. I'd rather melt packs while having interrupts.

As much as I despise and have always hated the Seasons buff from Tree Huggers, I'd be fine with some form of it (ie the actual blessings) being spells you can have more Seals/Blessings in the game. Shit call them Seals and make them self-only, bam you've got something baseline.

AH is never going to be baseline. Can you imagine what they'd do to it? It'd just be made into an improved version of Consecrate that doesn't interact with anything, it just does more damage. I can see it coming back as a talent, perhaps competing against a modified version of DT which is weakened in some critical way (such as not proccing extra whacks). You have to understand that the only reason paladins even do any damage at all is because there is nobody working in Blizzard right now to shit on Ret. When they do a new expansion, they will actually look at Ret and make sure whatever good/strong abilities there are are nerfed. Tree Hugger blessings are akward and shitty enough a base to make new Seals or Blessings from and I don't even think that's so bad an idea as a baseline thing but think of the power level of Vanquisher's Hammer and how lame it is. That's about the level of a Ret talent you'd get so temper your expectations.
    Paladin Bash has spoken.
