    The Shrine of Lost Souls

In the Black Temple Illidan Stormrage had an immense fountain of arcane power called the Shrine of Lost Souls which Illidan used to feed his army of demons to free them from their addiction of fel, and which also contains souls, it's also highly likely that Illidan planned to use it for his initial plan to create a portal to Argus.

But what is exactly this Shrine of Lost Souls ? How was it created and from which does it produce so much power ? Whose souls do the ones in the shrine come from ?

It's also rumored that Illidan initially planned to show it to the Blood Elves and to use it to free them from their magic addiction, but he didn't. Could this theory be true ? if yes why did Illidan not show it to Kael'thas and his men ?

Probably because he figured out that Kael'thas had defected to the Burning Legion

The Shrine and the Reliquary are believed to be where the seventh of Illidan's vials from the Well of Eternity ended up, used to spark a power source sufficient to meet the needs of the Illidari. The power source seemed to draw some soul/anima energy from across Outland like a sort of energy magnet, mostly from Auchindoun. As to why he didn't share this power source with Kael'thas there are a couple of possibilities. 1.) It was meant solely for his war against Sargeras and the Legion, and he didn't want it being leeched from by the Blood Elves. 2.) Kael'thas betrayed Illidan before he could broach the topic, and Illidan sought to keep it secret from Kael to ensure he didn't provoke a war on three fronts.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

Preety sure the souls are from the space goats that used to live in area and the ones that were stored in auchidon. How it was made is anyone guess but probably with the vial of water from well of eternity.

Illidan used all of the souls in Auchindoun, to make a sneaky portal to Argus, which we didn't use in the end.
