Imo the best thing about these threads is that you can immediately tell who has managed their life properly to have disposable income vs spergs living off their moms allowance.
It's a transmog....it has zero effect on gameplay?
TF does it matter.
Feel like you have a target on your back around here?
Knowing this place, you probably do.
Eh.
Buy it if you want it. Don't buy it if you don't. There's really no higher level to this sort of thing.
Putting yourself on some sort of pedestal because you're a human being with the good common sense to simply not buy something that you don't want to buy is a weird look. No one who's willing to buy transmog off the store gives a shit that you're not, nor that you're mad at them online or laughing at them for being okay with it.
Pandora's box was opened the moment the first cash-shop exclusive item went on sale. Pitching a bitch-fit every single time something else goes on sale as another drop in that bucket is totally meaningless. Speculating why Blizzard continues to perpetuate the cash shop is equally meaningless. The box cannot be closed. Ever. It doesn't matter why you think it's being kept open or what you think "needs" to happen in order for them to close it.
The only real thing you can do is just not give it or the people who partake in it any of your attention. Spare yourself the cringe and frustration.

So... just like the almighty super awesome rad FF14 is doing but now it's bad because WoW is doing it right?
MMO-Champion, once the place to get WoW News, now the home of the haters and their clickbait and doomsaying threads
Subs are not enough for Kotick. Let's focus on whales with cosmetics and mounts.
one day this will be the only content added in the game.
What else other than cosmetics do people want to see in the store then?
Well, of course. That kind of thing cost Blizzard a ton of money to handle, and contrary to your assumption, they can't just magic up a foolproof detection method and shut it all down by waving their hands very quickly.
Boosting saw a rise, sure, but you've not established any link to the token, either. You're just asserting that's the reason. Boosting more likely saw a rise because it became easier to do en masse with M+ and harder to find regular groups due to a general decline in player numbers, but boost runs have been a thing since long before the token, all the way back to vanilla.
And ancient history or not, i still got millions left over from WoD and Legion. The gold from the tables didn't just poof out of existence. I wonder how much of the gold currently in circulation originates from that era.
I dont even know what transmog set you guys are talking about? the sprite darter one? was something new announced?
They’d rather it be in game only behind achievements that less than 20% of players would have the skill to get so they could then complain that the most awesomest, raddening, highest class of the highest elite designed badass mounts can only be obtained by being good or having to pay to get carried.
