I had collected 19 of the shards before flying. Yesterday I decided to finish this achievement, I was able to collect and have the achievement count until I got to 25 of the shards. Then it stopped counting them, I did at least 3 before I noticed the count not going up. Has anyone encountered this problem. I hate to keep going but they not count. I have tried getting rid of all add ons and reloaded many times. No idea what to do now.

If you suspect a bug create a tick and contact a GM. Chances are you just went to crystals you already collected previously. Going by the wowhead comments there doesn't seem to be any widespread bugs with this.
