Bolvar said he took her to Oribos. The only characters we have in Oribos are Bolvar, Baine, Thrall, Jaina, Calia, Talia, Tyrande, and the PC. None of them except Thrall have a former close and personal friendship type level to Sylvanas. With the Cosmic Forces arc coming in, Turalyon being the new leader of the Alliance and Stormwind and the Voidlords still not over and them being a threat and enemy to Death the perfect person to introduce in Shadowlands would be: Alleria Windrunner. There is no other better candidate than Alleria. Alleria:

    Sylvanas' eldest sister
    Sylvanas' mentor and icon
Left on a cliffhanger in the comic and the BFL cinematic
Void Wants Alleria to kill Sylvanas because she is an enemy
Easily will become the next lead figure in the next expansion almost guaranteed if it involves the Light
Had no actual character development since 7.3.5, BFA prepatch, and 8.2.5
Closest person to Sylvanas in life

Alleria can talk some sense into Sylvanas without actually forgiving what she has done. The Sylvanas she will be speaking to is one made whole. One she doesn't know and one she does. This also can lead in to finally shelving Sylvanas for a bit and pass Alleria the Windrunner spotlight torch.
Oh you didn't hear? lol It's Alleria's time to be the new super villain. She is taking Sylvanas' place.

I mean, I guess it is cool that they were main characters in that one novel which, as per all expansion novels, is not really important in the grand scheme of things and often get retconned.

But they won't appear in Shadowlands. There's not much of Shadowlands left and they missed the opportunity to include Alleria in Patch 9.1. It is likely that the final patch will simply be focused on the current cast of characters without introducing anyone new. Which sucks, because all current characters are terrible and boring.

Yes, I listened to parts of it and read the full story on Wowpedia. But as I have a short attention span I could never finish it

Maiev, Talanji. Genn, Calia's useless. Azhara ... etc

BFA is essentially not done so you still have to close all those plots or it will open plots that make those plots not matter like Blizzard always does.

Unfortunately for you, none of those characters are interesting.

Definitely not Maiev, who was castrated since that novel where she massacred the Highborne, or Azshara, who will likely be redeemed because it's 2021 and Blizzard is going under a massive lawsuit for discrimination and abuse against women.

I think Alleria is probably angry with Sylvanas now for what she has done. I don't think if she wants to have anything to do with her. We will see.

IT would have made more sense if they were there, in the Sylvanas encounter ending than 3 people one of whom she maybe respects.

You were late. That novel was basically canceled in Legion. Then he came out in BFA he has an appearance in the last novel and two Herstone Skinks.

    Maiev sells and blizzard noticed.

    That doesn't make her interesting.

Maiev is basically a Tyrande fangirl.

While Alleria often clashes with another Alliance leader (Jaina) over her... methods. That makes her compelling and an interesting character who creates drama.

Drama is what drives the plot forward, not "I love you Tyrande xoxo pls dont die Night Wwarrior xoxo" Maiev.

As someone who doesn't care about the Night elves, I was surprised to see Maiev so friendly towards Tyrande and vice versa when in the novel she exterminated Highborne and was punished by Tyrande. Surprised negatively btw.

Hopefully all windrunners sisters can hug it out

And while they are distracted, the sin'dorei mana bomb the shit out of them
This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.

When Alleria clashes with another Alliance Leader in a way that affects the Plot?

Maiev saves Sira by clashes with Tyrande.

PS: If Maiev is a fangirl of Tyrande. Voljin is a fangirl of Garrosh.

PD2: Did you read the novel? Maiev was almost forgiven in the same novel.
Tyrande and Malfuerion's Attitude was a. We screwed up really bad and that's why Maiev wants to kill us now. We have to stop her just because she's dangerous.

Tyrande literally agrees with Maiev for leaving her behind at W3.

But if you're going to take Maiev for what she does in that novel, it's like I take Alleria for everything she did against Nzoth.

Sadly it's the best ending. 2 It has no race of its own. Most only know them as "Sylvanas's sisters" and this is left over in history because of the BFA trash.

To think that with such simple things they could be pj "functional" in the plot .. As the void elves are on the path of Alleria and not a separate race that is almost the same .. who the hell thought of that?

This is the most sensible approach. The correct amount of Windrunners in the game is exactly zero
If the Janitor managed to pwn Azeroth:

yeah it would make sense for alleria to play a role.
you know what also wouldve made sense?
    - having illidan actually meet with tyrande and malfurion in legion (not that "memory crystal" bullshit).
    - or having azshara meet tyrande and malfurion again in BfA.
    - or having thrall meet garrosh in SoD.
    - or having ner'zhul meet sylvanas/arthas/kel'thuzad, before half of them got dropped in the same raid.

you see a pattern here? the writers didnt. bc they dont give a shit.

Anduin, looking for advisors to fight N'Zoth, called his boyfriend for aid and never even mentioned the Ren'dorei; despite the fact that Alleria of the Ren'dorei was the ONLY leader in Patch 8.2.5, prior to the battle at Orgrimmar, to propose an armistice so that the forces of the world could deal with N'Zoth. And despite the fact that the Ren'dorei devote their entire existence to fighting the Void.

That the Ren'dorei were completely forgotten in Patch 8.3 (aside from the non-canon, alternate dimension, gameplay-only Visions of N'Zoth), is proof that Blizzard has a clear bias and agenda against them.

It is therefore not a surprise that Alleria, who clearly stated in the game that she would be there to watch Sylvanas fall, was nowhere to be seen in Patch 9.1.

Clearly Blizzard believed that featuring Old Emma in this expansion was more important and meaningful than featuring Alleria Windrunner, one of the most interesting and compelling characters in the entire Alliance, who is also very connected to both the Jailer (enemy of the Void) and Sylvanas Windrunner (her weaker and more foolish sister).
They do this every expansion like they forget half the previous lore or arcs started in previous times.

If an arc is not resolved in the same patch or the next.
Most likely it will not be resolved or will end up like the arc of the night war.

Take a look, for example, at what Wration pre-approved to beat the Legion ...

Let's not keep killing characters off when we can just improve from feedback. Look at Garrosh. We don't need that to happen again and we're already 3/4 with his story upon Sylvanas.

Heck are you talking about, the best thing that ever happened to Garrosh was when he died

(because we finally got rid of him, took about four expansions too long)

They could still technically come. Calia and Taelia came to Oribos briefly to speak with Bolvar during the "rescue everyone from Torghast" storyline in 9.0.
I did a Necromancer thing. Check it out! All feedback welcome!
I also did a Bard thing! Questions, comments and ideas, all welcome!

the only feedback that can improve their character is exactly they listening to us and killing all the windrunners off, they are a cancer to this game.

not sure about the last statement but they do have to write around what ion says the gameplay will be on and about
