Mechanic Class - A highly vehicle / trinket specialized type class

    The Mechanic Class:

    3 Specs
    • Oil & Burn - (Ranged DPS Fire/Oil based spells, using temporary summoned vehicles for damage (think smaller versions of steam tanks, gyrocopters, etc.))
    • Dodads and Gadgets - (Melee DPS think new weapon class as well, so like wrenches, crowbars, saws, essentially "dodads", gadgets could be things like throwing nails on the ground, or other harmful things - glass shards, nails, bucket-o-parts, that harms enemies in like a cone)
    • Repair Man - (Healing, think cogwheel repairs, fix it, grease it, polish, mop-the-blood, cauterize wound, etc, these types of words to describe the spells, with unique animations)

It could be themed around like a steampunk type of expansion, or maybe exploring the little races (gnomes, dwarves, goblins, fox ppl) and what types of research they do and types of professionals they need to create their gadgets and buildings and such.

Like, what would an expansion look like where our mechanical creations became sentient, and we had to fight our own creations, and the creations of those creations? (think raids and dungeons). Kind of like the second Avengers movie where Tony Stark's creations took over and turned against them. Would be pretty fun to explore that in WoW imo.

    • Could this work in World of Warcraft?
    • What do you like about the class?
    • What do you dislike about the class?
    • What type of expansion theme would make sense for this type of class being introduced to the game?
    • Are there any additions or changes you would like to see with the class?
    • Would you play and enjoy a class like this?

It might be fun to explore a more gritty, steampunky type of expansion that brings us back to Azeroth.

I thought a tinker was like a mechanical suit type class.

This is more like a car mechanic (or in WoW terms, a steam tank mechanic).

A Tinker is anyone who specializes in working with technology for combat stuff. Mostly they fight with tools, equipment, and other tech at their advantage.

Tinkers (or tinkerers and tinkologists) are engineers mostly represented by gnomes, goblins, and dwarves of the Alliance, Horde and the Venture Company.

There is not enough to discuss here - it's just three crayon drawings and other users put forward full schematics. Cancel that, it's not even three drawings - it's just you vaguely describing three crayon drawings you did once. There is nothing to discuss because you havnt put anything forward.

Ok I'll try - why would we be using a MECHANIC using grease and tools to heal our wounds? That makes absolutely no sense.

I wouldn't describe steampunk as "gritty", and you seem really confused if you want to talk about an expansion theme, or, a new class.

Honestly, what even is this thread?

Generally blizzard likes to bring new classes into the game when it makes sense in the context of the expansion. So for example DH was brought in during Legion which made sense because of the burning legion / demon theme.

Hence, its important to talk about the theme of the expansion that a Mechanic class would be brought into the game. Was that not obvious?

Tinker healers should have a medi gun and be done with it

This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.

It's a healing spec that can only heal Mechagnomes?

It'd fit a Mad Max apocalyptic Australia themed expansion, ai'll say that.

Congratulations on failing to answer any of the questions asked. Youve thrown a few crumbs on the ground and said "look at that! three cakes!"

    Could WHAT work?
There isnt a "class" to like anything about, just some random ability names thrown in.
    Again, there isnt a "class".
    What type of class?
The main addition is actually explaining these classes AT ALL beyond a handful of ability names that make no sense. "oh, you got slashed in the face with a sword? Here, have some grease and a cog wheel, all better!"
You are asking people if they would enjoy a "class" that you havnt explained AT ALL.

Again, there is nothing to discuss about the class, because you have not fleshed it out. Let me try to explain this.

"hey guys, I invented a new sport - it has a ball, and you score points. It will probably be played on a field or court of some kind, and the team names will be like......the Turbo Vikings, and Ultra Instinct! You might get a Penalty for...say....Shafting the Backer or Slipping the Donkey, and there will be special plays with names like "quick slap" and "wacky doodle"............"anyway, what do you guys think of my new sport? Could this be a winner with the networks? Would you like to play this game? What rules need changing?"

The main problem I see here is that the concept you’ve created doesn’t really do anything new and interesting. Oil and Burn is just another fire caster, and we already have two such specs in the game. Your dodads and gadgets sounds like something that wouldn’t be out of place in a Rogue or Warrior spec.

The technology theme is a very unique one, so it should bring stuff to the table that no current class can do.

Instead of Oil and Burn, why aren’t you pushing a Demolition-based spec that is full of bombs, missiles, timed explosives, etc.? Instead of a melee-based gadget spec, why not a spec that is actually using gadgets like grappling hooks, bolas, boomerangs, crawler mines, etc. Your healing spec is vague. Why not simply utilize healing sprays, adrenaline bombs, healing arrays, and/or medical bots?

Where’s the ray guns? Where’s the laser cannons? Where’s the bio-Grenades? Where’s the juiced up hobgoblins? Where’s the remote controlled giant robots?

You’re dealing with Goblin/Gnome tech here man, you shouldn’t be playing it safe.

you Know damn well you made this thread to incite the " Tinker " debate that almost only ends in people attacking each other.
This " concept " serves nothing more than to run so parallel to the Tinker theme but to not actually be about Tinkers....pro troll move.
