Disney is more likely to outright buy all of atvi than Blizz

It's quite the irony, as the attempts to pander to China sometimes end up backfiring despite how far companies may bend over backwards to appease them. Can be for any number of reasons, as you have to navigate the equivalent of a bureaucratic nightmare regardless of how you approach the pandering. For example, Marvel/Disney has been getting denied penetration with their more recent content despite pandering attempts. Shang Chi is a prime example of a film that was marketed and designed around what I'd call an Americanized view of China, but has been getting denied for reasons ranging from the content being offensive (politically/culturally) or too stereotyped even for their standards and individuals involved with the project saying things that don't mesh with the CCP's views. Basically, China isn't dumb and knows their position of power while knowing how blatant the pandering actually is to where they can be picky. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if you suddenly saw a huge increase in Bollywood-type representation in Marvel/Disney content, as they'll just shift over to India next.

When it comes to Blizz... no, no sign of prepping Blizz for sale at all. What you're seeing Blizz do right now is akin to what Disney/Marvel does to pander to specific demos because they think it'll make them some gains or score political/social points to help improve their situation. It's all still heavily misguided, as their focus still appears to be way more centered on money and virtue signaling, frankly way more than it realistically needs to be under any circumstance that could gain a positive benefit (no matter how minute it may be). What you're seeing in all these companies is the result of not having core fundamental values or morality, as their actions show they're selling their souls with no sight of values/morality being a driving force in their decisions. If you want the definition of a soulless corporate machine with no guiding principles of morality, these companies are the epitome of such things right now.

“It's not an endlessly expanding list of rights — the 'right' to education, the 'right' to health care, the 'right' to food and housing. That's not freedom, that's dependency. Those aren't rights, those are the rations of slavery — hay and a barn for human cattle.”

People are meaning "Activision-Blizzard" when they say "Activision", usually. This is because Activision-Blizzard's management team came from the pre-merger Activision.

Anyway, at the rate things are going in a few years it won't be Disney buying Blizzard, it will be Gamego.

Overwatch is Blizzard's XXX franchise... not exactly a Disney ripoff lol

I'd rather EA or even Dreamhaven bought Blizzard or at least their properties. Just fold the company and fire all of the woke morons running it, and put the properties in the hands of passionate people with business sense.

Doubt anyone would buy blizzard in the state it's in atm.
Do you hear the voices too?

Disney has been on a IP buying spree for quite a while and while they perhaps are not interested in running a game studio, they could easily milk Blizzard's IP portfolio for a multitude of products ranging from movies to toys and theme park attractions.

The thing with Blizzard is that although it's a huge company on it's own, it has always been under the ownership or affiliation of another company as long as it gets it's autonomy to do it's thing. Being acquired by yet another company every few years is not really unusual. But due to the current scandal, it might have lost a lot of it's luster to any investor squeamish about media backlash.

Then again Disney and the likes also have legions of lawyers and PR specialists to spin anything until it's just at the right angle to pass the firewall of media scrutiny without much damage. The suites at Activision and Disney could easily wait a year or two till this all blows over and then turn it around into a "industry redemption story".

My magic imp ball says Blizzard will have it's main focus in scrubbing it's image while popular request crumbs to it's fans to keep the cash flowing. Shiny Mounts and maybe player housing are the 'conceptual teats' of choice to give the fans a fix in the meanwhile.

So if we get a "Escape the Lich King" experience/ride like in Halls of Reflection, I'm down. Or a "Spine of Deathwing" roller coaster ride.

Ah yes. A freakish alien, satanic, and a mix of the two with a magical twist theme park would be nice at a park made primarily for the ages 6-13.

Anyways... Theres a warcraft park in china if it still around. Though, its unlicensed. Basically, atvi dont get any revenue from it

If anything, they’ll buy the movie rights.

If Disney were to buy Blizzard, it definitely won’t be before the fallout from their lawsuits settles properly.

With the prices we can see in-game at Goldshire Studios, I'd rather not. Don't remember if we can see prices for things in Blizz World or not.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

Activisions business model is buying studios milking them for all their work then closing them. Why on earth would they consider selling them?

Yeah, I had forgot about it when I was typing my previous post. It's just that WoW these days is a lot closer to Marvel than it is to Disney 'proper' (i.e. the likes of Mickey Mouse).

I like "CHINA" being a core tenant of Disney compatability lol. But anyway past that wit, just because it is compatible doesn't mean it's a thing. It'd probably be a valuable acquisition, but that doesn't mean it is going to happen or there's any signs it will. Many things could happen that do not.
