I know it has been said many times now, but the cruelty is the point with the GQP.

The very notion that there needs to be something such as a "trans kids suicide hotline" on a republican or government webpage in specific is absurd to begin with.
It is absurd, but hatemongers tend to make a lot of absurd things a necessity. Perhaps stop wanting people to turn nazi to counter evil leftism, and such things would be less needed. Or how did the priceless post of yours (in another thread a while back) go word for word. Got the gist of it tho.

Or just you know they can use the normal suicide hotline like everyone else.
It's almost as if different hotlines are run by different people, with different qualifications, that have access to different resources.

Sure they could use the regular hotline, it's not gonna be much of a help if the person at the other end of the line doesn't really know how to actually help them with their case.

It is legal. Look up the "gay panic defense".

I don't really see what the problem is. They can just use the regular suicide hotlines like everyone else.

Yeah, why target a demographic with rapidly rising suicide rates fueled by discrimination? I swear some of you guys are just too fucking dumb to be having these conversations.

I lean toward the first option.
The amount of effort to maintain multiple personalities for this long would be even more embarrassing and pathetic than just being radicalized by Tim Pool and friends. And honestly, I've seen worse outside of this forum so none of the things I read here are all that shocking or uncommon for fascist weirdos to say.

Sadly if it works, like the Gay Panic Defense has at times, it IS legal.

stop breaking the rules then. Easy peasy. This conservative victim hood when not one of you can follow the rules is just as worth of tin foil as the election conspiracy nonsense.

To think our favorite nazbol and our favorite fascist poster would make the exact same argument.

It's not very tolerant to bully them while they bully. What is freedom if they can't endlessly harass trans people or advocate for political violence so they can have their way.

Except the regular hotline isn't equipped to handle those specific needs of that community. Could they just roll the LGBTQ+ hotline workers into the normal line? Sure. But they aren't doing that.

It's probably better to diversify them, so workers aren't overloaded and certain topics that require more sensitivity/knowledge can be tended to. A lot of people feel better reaching out when they think they'll be more easily understood. Think of schools and teachers/faculty w/ those stickers for different topics on their doors. People may think it's surface-level virtue signaling, but it does make it easier for troubled kids to know where they can go when they're afraid.

Really. It's Texas. Their suicide hotline pretty much is "Y'all need Jesus. No? Good thing it's easy to buy a gun. Enjoy."

Remember how Google's motto used to be "Don't be evil"?

The Republicans' motto is "Be evil".
“Leadership: Whatever happens, you’re responsible. If it doesn’t happen, you’re responsible.” -- Donald J. Trump, 2013

"I don't take responsibility at all."

Y'know, when you put it like that... maybe this is a good thing. There's a 74% chance Texas legislation thinks that a suicide hotline should be a place to ENCOURAGE someone to take their own life. Wanting more deaths kinda falls in line with their covid handling.
