When thinking about space travel and exploration another big hurdle we need to calculate is the human life cost we will need to pay; we all know an accident is bound to happen somewhere down the road it happened back in the day and that caused a massive setback how losing an entire crew nowadays impact the space race?
The first deaths aboard a commercial flight will grind a lot of things to a halt. A little while ago Blue Origin's New Shepard had a anomaly where they lost the first stage. It was grounded for a year. Might still be some uncrewed flights before they man it again.
I know @PACOX is right, but I sincerely hope they aren't. People are going to die in space, period, and no one should be "shocked" anymore by it (no one here, I'm talking about the future pearl clutchers who will *GASP* at "what went wrong!" when someone eventually does die in space). We should work to make it as safe as possible, but it's inherently unsafe, so deaths will occur. I hope they will be adults about it and not shut down programs for years while "investigating".
The next Starship test could happen next month - https://twitter.com/Erdayastronaut/s...10838924603732
Can't wait!
Crew-7 departing space station in a few hours, for a splashdown tomorrow morning.

FAA has cleared SpaceX to launch IFT-3!
The 110-minute launch window opens tomorrow at 7am Central Time/13:00 Central European Time.

Now 7:30/13:30. Weather is looking 70% go.
The launch has been pushed back to 8:02.
8:02/14:02 now. Apparently some idiot boats are being removed from the hazard zone.
I'm kind of glad they had to push the launch for an hour, it gives the Sun a chance to clear the fog.
Another 15 minute delay.
C'mon I wanna see a massive rocket launch!
Prop load began.
8:25/14:25 now. The fact that prop loading has begun is a really good sign.

No 40 second hold. Let's go!
Booster impacted in the Gulf of Mexico at terminal velocity after a nominal boostback. Hero engines tried to relight up until the very end.
Starship is in space! Nominal orbit insertion has been called!
That was amazing! Even with losing the booster it is simply staggering how far SpaceX has come since the first launch. Fingers crossed Starship will have a successful return from orbit.
