I'm pretty sure we all qualify somewhere on the sliding scale of lawful good to true neutral somewhere. We're either doing good for goodness sake, using evil magics to ultimately protect the world, or true murder hobos who ultimately wind up accomplishing good because some guy gave us 500 artifact power to kill a god.

Horde's always been a bit more evil just because their whole shtick is how they were evil, and are on paths of redemption of one form or another. With the story going on so long though, it's easy to look back on all that evil and go "wow, they evil."

But post-BFA they're definitely supposed to be closer to that Thrall ideal, having cut out the biggest tumors on their reputation more thoroughly this time compared to the Garrosh era. Time will tell if that all ultimately becomes meaningless depending on what happens to Sylvanas. (see: Shadows Rising, Tyrande's Ultimatum)

My druid levels off herbs and ore because I only play him when I'm too high to fight things.

Guess you could do something like that.

I'm sure it's possible. And I doubt you can find any guides in how to play like that, as that sounds unbelievably boring and niche, in a game that is not remotely designed to be played like that. Just be very selective in the quests you take, and kill a billion NPC's you think might be evil. Or gather a trillion herbs and/or ores to level up, like that Pandaren did in the Pandaren starter zone to level up to max level, or something ludicrous like that.

again, no such thing. even if you did not picked any faction, killing mobs for titles or grinding reputations are quite the opposite of beign neutral, good or evil

there are zero differences between horde and alliance DK. it really does not matter which character you pick, because besides a few quests which belong to your class you are doing all the same quests which you are supose to (no matter your faction or class) do for progression. you have NO choose and zero options to choose your path.

How do you get of the island ?

    It's up to you.

You could, but it would be grindy and boring, involving mostly professions like herbalism and mining. You could level though pet battles, but that's also forcing animals to fight one another, so...

Being "good" is also subjective in WoW. Is revenge off the table? Would your version of "good" avoid killing at all? What about needing to kill someone in self defense? Would you work with groups like pirates or thieves?

But let's say you just wanted to level through quests like most other people. Being "good" is going to be very tough. Most quests are going to make you destroy local animal populations, local communities of races (Kobolds, Murlocs, Centaur, etc), and there are lots of faction v faction quests as well that wind up screwing up the land around it and the locals there. You'd need to choose quests carefully and pass on ones that don't meet your standards of good. Even leveling in Westfall on the Alliance, the first thing you do is have the option to beat up a bunch of homeless people for information. A lot of quests have "mercy killing" as well, usually for enslaved or corrupted people.

Most classes have no choice at all - sometimes with how they play, sometimes with quests.
-Rogues pickpocket and backstab, and if you do Legion content you have to work with pirates, thieves, assassins, spies, and alchemists.
-Priests get a sacrificial dagger in Legion that absorbs the life essence of those you fight, not to mention you're attacking the mind of those you fight when you're in Shadow spec. You even raise a dead body (Natalie Seline) in Legion. Not to mention the fact that Shadow is a corrupting spec that uses Void powers.
-Mages have the option to kill a bunch of sheep to get a weapon look in Legion. They also work with a bound arcane entity (that wants to destroy everything) and feed it tons of magic, until it's sacrificed to stop Sargeras' sword. Frost mages bind water elementals to them against their will with arcane powers.
-Warlocks enslave demons and creatures of Void, which is kind of good since they want to destroy everything in existence. But, some of the demons seem to like working with you (Observer, Succubus, Imp, Wrathguard, Felguard), while others do not (Shivarra, Voidwalker). You're also casting fel fire in the ground the entire time, which corrupts everything it touches in lore, so...
-Death Knights raise the dead and cause plagues around them with their attacks. They also kill red dragons in Legion in order to get some mounts, and have dead baby dragon pets in Legion as well.
-Hunters take animals from their natural habitat and bring them to places they shouldn't be, like other climates or like the occasional realm of death or void or whatever.
-Warriors make Odyn bend the rules of the Halls of Valor to force King Ymiron to serve him in death for all eternity *or until Blizzard needs him again). They also kill a lot of critters in every spec everywhere they go.

    Etc, etc, for every class.

There would be current content that you wouldn't be able to participate in or complete without doing dubious acts. You wouldn't ever be able to be a Necrolord in Shadowlands due to Emeni, who slaughtered her own people (for...fun?), nor would you be able to get the Maldraxxi Army for the Venthyr Ember Court (where Emeni makes you kill her kin on Azeroth, some of which were friends with Emeni in life). Kyrians have you kill Forsworn, many of which were tricked or forced into service of Helya and the Jailer. Ardenweald may be the "nicest" Covenant, but you still kill lots of local wildlife.

tldr - You could try, but it would take a while to level, and there would be lots of activities that you'd have to ignore.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.

Wow is railed game. There is no way to make moral choice here. Everything is decided for you by Blizzard writers.

It's actually funny, when they talk about NPCs trusting you and doing everything you say without any doubts, cuz you're Maw Walker, that can be dangerous if exploited, while you as hero just do, what quest givers tell you to do without any doubts. Some double standards here.

Most classes are very evil in wow. I had the delusion mages are "light magic" for example. I later realized they are literally written in lore as "manipulators of dangerous arcane magic which is very reckless and questionable".

And the ironing how Tauren are the most lovely people around. Though I hate the culture of Orcs. Bunch of obnoxious over-caffeinated douchebags (in NPCs).

Kinda sucks, hoped it would be Hordes domain, but whatever.
Yeah, actually you are talking pretty much nonsense here. Horde was very peaceful and did not bring several genocides to the surface of the planet, nono

    Your signature is very good.

Spires of Arak = Arakkoa which is simply wrong because the very zone is named Arak. The arakkoa are their inhabitants for the most part but it is not that the zone got its name as a representation of them owning the place. Arak is the landscape, later named Spires of Arak after the Apexis' Breath of Rukhmar sundered it.

Just talking about this specific situation. It's more apparent because usually Horde is the bigger asshole, here for once Alliance was displayed as the worse kind of a conquistador. But yes, it's just a single exception, of course the Red faction tends to do more conquest and genocide, that's why people pick it after all.

What the heck are you talking about, "killing defenseless combatants at the start"?

In the Jade Forest intro, the Alliance enslaved nothing and killed NO defenseless combatants. Starting with Unleash Hell (https://www.wowhead.com/quest=31732/unleash-hell) and going through every single quest in the Jade Forest intro, as an Alliance character you: kill Horde troops (all combatants), destroy Horde war machines (all combatants), and drive off Horde invaders at the request of the Pandaria whose forest the Horde were destroying (invading someones lands to destroy them and steal resources makes you a combatant, even if youre a peon). Then killing Sha.

I think you've got some revisionist history in your head about that intro.

Easy. Just play like Doubleagent the Pandaren and never choose a faction. Done.

There's a cinematic on the Ally side where after shooting Horde pilots down, Alliance captain orders fire on now defenseless orcs swimming to the shore. And one Night Elf goes so sad about this that he turns into a slime demon. Those are the defenseless combatants I refer to, that's some messed up stuff for Alliance.
