I hope they don't overstretch themselves. It would be a shame if they get this far only to lose it due to spreading too thin. But the millbloggers are 'trusting' the cunning plan? Like trumptards did?

There are some still going on about cunning plans, about how Russia actually wants to drag out the war by only using 1st gen rather than 3rd gen gear etc. Actually, I got my classic British shows mixed up (its what happens when you post at 2am after getting up to deal with asthma). It was actually Lance Corporal Jones from Dad's Army and his 'don't panic' mantra I was thinking of. There is a LOT of that at the moment.

This a decent run down of what Ukraine is doing. Ukraine hitting from many locations.

And Russian losses, according to Ukraine, stand at 50,000 dead. The UK says 25,000 dead and 80,000 casualties in total, which is still a lot.

So they're at around "half a Vietnam" in roughly 7 months? That's...not good.

    Not for Russia, no.

Once more the Ukrainians prove just how impressive they are, this time in the propaganda war. The other day, Russian channels were full of clips showing what they claimed was the aftermath of a failed Ukrainian SpecOps raid on the nuclear power plant. At the time everyone thought it was staged by the Russians, as there was no blood, no wounds, the bodies were posed Hollywood style, soldiers had wads of US dollar bills in cash, were wearing Blackwater patches etc.

The Ukrainians have now just released the full clip, showing the 'dead' soldiers getting up at the end. (Or maybe they were just biolab zombies like Russia claims.) Seems the Ukrainians made the clip themselves, leaked part of it to the Russians - and they fell for it hook, line and sinker.

So that's what that was. I saw the video while scrolling through Reddit, didn't really read the headline, figured it was more war-porn and moved on. Still grains of salt and all, but if true that's absolutely hilarious that the Russias are so incompetent they didn't shut off the recording to tell the soldiers playing dead to get up.

It wasn't the Russians who made it - it was the Ukrainians doing so to troll the Russians. The Russians had claimed there was a fictitious raid on the nuclear power plant so the Ukrainians made a blatantly staged video of the 'aftermath'. They leaked part of it to Russian bloggers who bought it despite being so obviously staged. And now they have shown the whole video just to troll the Russians futher.

Oooohhhh, alright I'm a bit dim sometimes, thanks.

In that case, well played indeed.

I continue to be amazed by the level of trolling the Ukrainians do and did during this war.

On that note of the Ukrainian MoD trolling the Russians, there's also this now.

Rob Lee has been following Russian sources reporting on Ukraine's Kharkiv offensive, and if half of what they say is true then Ukraine has kicked the fucking door in and the Russians don't have any reserves to plug the hole with. The Ukrainians found a weak spot and just smashed through it and are rolling on. Some sources put it at at more than a 20km advance in just 12 hours and there is nothing ahead of them.

But russia is ready to talk...on their terms...I think those terms will have to be very modest if this goes on.

And Erdogan is blaming the West for arming Ukraine.. what does that man want? What is he even? Remove him from NATO please.

He literally armed Ukrainians with excellent Turkish drones that kept shrecking orcs (and sank Moscow). Ukraine is like, Turkey biggest importer (or something) but Russia is also valuable to them (for now). He tries to play both sides, and it seems it's time to lean towards Putler a little.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

Exactly, outside of HIMARS the Turkish Bayraktar drones may well be the most impactful weapons that Ukraine received.
Erdogan can talk whatever he wants, no one cares. His actions however put him squarely on the side of NATO.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

    I can top this.

A Ukrainian hacking group got a bunch of fake social media accounts of hot Russian women, who were asking for hot Russian soldiers to post pictures of themselves, in uniform, outside, near landmarks.

    (A few days later)

The Ukrainian online news site Ukrainian Pravda reported last month that there was an explosion at a large Russian military base in Melitopol, citing its mayor, Ivan Fedorov.
Yeah, the hackers found out where they were from the pictures and gave it to the Ukraine military, who blew them the fuck up.

"The Russians, they always want to fuck," Knysh told the FT. "They send [a] lot of shit to 'girls,' to prove that they are warriors."

Once the soldiers sent pictures, the hackers were able to identify that they had been taken from a remote Russian military base near occupied Melitopol in southern Ukraine.
We've also heard that Russia is buying ammo from North Korea. North Korea, as North Korea has said, has the best weapons in the entire universe, meaning there's a negative billionty percent chance even a single one will fail.

Damn...never thought catfishing would turn so deadly but that's wild. This is why you should always try to think with your upper brain, gents. The lower brain is great, but it can get you into a lot of trouble.

At this point we just have to wait him out. I just hope what he leaves behind is not completely broken.

Leaks from within Russian seem to confirm the 50.000 dead.

When someone says FIFTY Thousand... I think of the immortal words of Cyrus, Warlord of the Gramercy Riffs:

    "Can you count suckas!?"

Putin says Russia has lost nothing since Feb 24th.

"I am sure that the Russian Federation has lost nothing since 24 February, but the main achievement is the strengthening of our sovereignty.

Russia is a sovereign state, and we will always protect our national interests by pursuing an independent policy."
