The Ukrainians are sweeping through Kherson oblast, liberating numerous settlements and are getting close to Kherson. Russian resistance seems minimal so far.

Russian sources are saying thousands of Russian soldiers are trapped at the river bank, waiting evacuation and that Ukrainian artillery is hitting them hard, and that Ukrainian special forces have entered Kherson city.

Ah, sweet vatnik tears. They seem to think the Ukrainians aren't allowed to shoot at retreating troops. Given the troops are being redeployed to fight elsewhere, destroying them when vulnerable at crossing points is the best way to stop that.

    1) the reasons sanctions don't work is because you could hypothetically sanction an entity like Russia six feet under, but that would only stoke hatred from its people and turn it into some Jihadist-like terror state that do suicide bombings against the West when all else fails. But if you sanction too cautiously, well that doesn't work either obviously. So it's all talk.

    2) The Ukrainian army is fucking merciless, that's for sure. I've been watching the news and unless it's an unconditional surrender, they'll slaughter any Russians regardless of their circumstances. I saw some Russians eating lunch and get carpet bombed into gore by drones or missile strikes on their location.

A little too early to say anything definitive, but its sounds like the planned retreat of russian forces from Kherson has broken down and they are having a very bad night. Russian milibloggers have gone full on doomer mode. The russians have withdrawn their air defence units (or they just aren't working) and Ukrainain planes and drones are free to work the area.

If half of what is being reported is true, its turning into a bit of a disaster for the russians.

A bit of a disaster he says:

The posts on Russian Telegram channels tonight are almost as incredible as the military situation. One is calling on Ukrainian forces to march on Moscow, destroy the Kremlin, and get it over with. Others are saying that when the images of Russian losses in Kherson become public, it may be enough to end Vladimir Putin.

There seems to be a broad understanding that this isn’t just a repositioning, or even a defeat. It’s a humiliation.
This is not good for putin. Which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Video reportedly of the crossing point at Kherson being pounded by artillery. If it s true, and if shotgun HIMARs is involved, ye gosh it is going to get ugly.

russian propogandist realises the insanity of russian media laws - he can't criticise the withdrawal from Kherson or he'll go to jail for discrediting the armed forces, but he can't support the withdrawal or he'll go to jail for questioning russia's territorial integrity.

Given there are still russian soldiers on the other side, that's gotta worry them.

Apathy to people that are getting a taste what for 8 months they have been giving isn't hate.

Considering all the looting the Russians did in the past few days before the retreat was declared.....

Encumbered penalties are a bitch in games and IRL
"Law and Order", lots of places have had that, Russia, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq.
Laws can be made to enforce order of cruelty and brutality.

Where are you seeing 'ALL'. Your seeing people hate on those who support the war
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Contrary to what some people believe, shooting at combatants retreating to regroup elsewhere isn't a war crime, they've got it coming for them by not staying put and attempting to surrender.

In general, yes, but some do hate all russians. (and sometimes you can't blame them, the Finns for example are quite vocal and quite indiscriminate in their hate of russians, well some of them at least.)

Well you also seem to hate Russians who do not actively oppose their government. Which is fair, no judgment there.

If they are not part of the solution, they are a part of the problem.

Russia can't help but lie. They are claiming the entire evacuation is complete, a process that should gave taken many days, but also that they suffered no losses at all in the process and left not a man or piece of hardware behind.

No doubt they will claim all the evidence already seen to the contrary as fake news.

again this is basically insane belief that if Russians don't want to be murderers they should get themselves brutally beaten and killed. Nobody should be telling people that because it is insanity said by people who never had a hard day in their life.

Great date for Kherson liberation, how nice for Russian to pick this moment to bravely run away.

Telling someone to pick between killing others in a war of conquest or standing up to their own oppressors shouldn't be this controversial concept.
