The Ukrainians are reporting that the russians have retreated 15-20km behind the Dneiper, just to get out of Ukrainian artillery range (well, except for HIMARs and other rounds they have that can hit that far.) They are giving up the best defensive position they could have just so they don't get shot at. They must have been in worse shape than first thought.

It goes both ways as well - if the Ukrainians cant hit them, they can't hit the Ukrainians and can't prevent them getting across.

Which wasn't news at all, Russia was always going to genocide civilians. Anything that could change that would be more deadly weapons, resulting in same thing - civilians targeted and killed.

Putin has nothing new left to threaten with. In fact, even killing a single more civilian would be the same thing as "not the worst we could do"...Because after killing 1000 civilians, 1 more is worse, but nothing new or meaningful tactics-wise.

Ukraine will probs be fighting the entire next year, and Neo-USSR is going to buckle and fall piece by piece. Yes, more civilians will die in Ukraine because that's how terrorist states operate, but the same time the ultimate price becomes far higher for Nazi Russia.
