I imagine (almost) all of Nato has a bunch of em. Even tiny Netherlands has 20 launchers spread across 4 units (3 actual, 1 reserve). Since the invasion of Ukraine some are stationed in Slovakia, before that in Turkey during both the Iraq invasion and the fighting in Syria.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Today, Henry Kissinger stated that Russia is going to lose, but urged the world to accept them back as quickly as possible after their defeat.

The day can't come soon enough when the grave accepts Henry Kissinger into it as quickly as possible, they really ought to stop rolling that geriatric out for hot takes.

You missed the part where he said russia's invasion validates Ukraine's NATO bid.

More like the total opposite. NATO won't take in a country that is undergoing war.
"Unfair" as it is, this is the cold harsh reality of it.

Which means that Russia can freeze NATO dead in its tracks just by creating a conflict, even a small one, whenever one of their neighbors wants to join.

The “No conflicts” clause of NATO should specify that it means “No Conflicts for reasons other than their desire to join NATO”.

That is basically what they did with Ukraine. That was one of the motivations for Putin, to stop Ukraine entering NATO.

Yeah, NATO should clarify that the will only halt entry for conflicts if those conflicts aren’t over their desire to enter NATO.

If a country is waging war to keep you out of NATO, that shouldn’t disqualify you from joining. NATO is a defensive pact to begin with.

That’s like having a group to protect abuse victims but one of the requirements is that you can’t be under the threat of abuse currently.

Why bother, when Russia can just pay off Turkey or Hungary again?

I doubt russia bought off Turkey, seems they genuinely have an issue with Sweden...not so much with Finland, but hey what's a little collateral damage eh? Hungary is clearly putin's man in Brussels (conveniently both NATO and EU HQ), well Orban is, Hungary may yet be redeemed.

It's not real issues, Erdo is just being an asshole and wants to hurt Kurds for nationalism reasons. He's basically saying "If you're a Kurd, you're a terrorist and Sweden needs to hand them over for oppression." while pretending they're terrorists.

If the Devil exists, he is keeping Kissinger alive because he is afraid of competition.

Why does Kazakhstan not fear Russia, in particular?

Today they formally announced not only will they no longer take Russian refugees (i.e, draft dodgers), but they also will not guarantee safe asylum to Russians as it is - nor will it be permanent.

They made a defense agreement with China. That should answer your question.

Helicopter crashes by nursery outside Kyiv, casualties confirmed - Kyiv

KYIV, Jan 18 (Reuters) - A helicopter crashed by a nursery and residential building in the Ukrainian town of Brovary near Kyiv on Wednesday morning and casualties were confirmed, the regional governor said.

A police spokesperson told the Suspilne public broadcaster that at least five people were hurt and that there were also a number of dead. Reuters could not immediately reach her for comment by phone.

"There were children and ... staff in the nursery at the time of this tragedy. Everyone has now been evacuated. There are casualties," Kyiv region governor Oleksiy Kuleba wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

Videos shared on social media showed a burning building and people could be heard screaming. Reuters was unable immediately to verify the footage.

It was not immediately clear what caused the helicopter to crash. There was no immediate comment from Russia, whose troops invaded Ukraine last February, and Ukrainian officials made no reference to any Russian attack in the area at the time.

"We are finding out information about casualties and the circumstances," the deputy head of Ukraine's presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
According to finnish media right now, one of the victims was Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Denis Monastyrskyi. Waiting for international sources to verify or add his name to the casualties list. Don't know the reason of the crash, but just curious piece of news given the war and one casualty at least being an important political figure.

I'll take in anyone trying to avoid unjust and inhuman conflict as long as they burn their russian passport at the border.

Dutch news confirms the minister's death as well as 14-15 others.

Someone should probably be real careful around windows, Russian embassy in Sweden tweeted a map showing Ukraine with it's internationally recognised 1991 borders in a map about 2023.
