How significant would the detriment be to Ukraine if Germany didn't give the nod for the Leopard 2 tanks?

Russia mustn't be allowed to win this war, so it's a little frustrating when other nations drag their feet.

Edit: Just heard a former army intelligence officer say that Germany's intransigence could be partly due to a reluctance to give Russia the opportunity to reverse engineer their technology, which is something I'd not considered.

That would be the same with the Americans, and I can understand the hesitation if that's the case. But Ukraine's need is great, they have so many russians to bury...

Apparently there's some chatter about T-14's:

That's assuming they managed to get them to the point they don't break down when driven over cobbled stone streets.

That's also assuming they have what a dozen....maybe two dozen of them?

Would they make a huge difference? Not much more than those 14 British Challengers would.

I would argue less than, as the most recent performance by russian forces doesn't exactly fill me with fear of them. Russia will almost be forced to hide them because if they get destroyed easily it's game over for russian weapon exports.

I would not be suprised. Sometimes I do wish I had the finances to leave the Netherlands, never really liked the country and its people anyway.

They were meant to have built 2000 of them by now and have a handful of them. They are pretty much Potemkin tanks, for show and little else. At their parade last year they had three take part in the dress rehearsal but only two took part in the actual parade, so one of them appears to have broken down before it. There is a reason they haven't sent them, the same as why the SU-57 hasn't shown up. And their Terminator made one, brief appearance, came under artillery attack and ran away, never to be seen again. The russians can't put them in the field as they fail to live up to the hype.

Scholz still not making a decision about the Leopards. There are protests outside the Bundestag demanding he Free the Leopards now. While waiting for Scholz to actually do anything, some of the other operators of Leopards have said that they are going to start training Ukrainians on how to operate them. Maybe by the time they are done Scholz will have made up his mind.

And the US has designated Wagner as a transnational criminal organisation. Calling them what they really are, a terrorist organisation, would be better, but its a start.

in a major blow to Wagner, the US is set to declare it a transnational criminal organization and will impose additional sanctions next week against the group and its support network across the world, the White House said on Friday.

“These actions recognize the transcontinental threat that Wagner poses, including through its ongoing pattern of serious criminal activity,” National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told reporters on Friday, ahead of the Treasury Department announcement.

So is that video of the skinny, beat up Wagner lad on Reddit with all the Nazi tattoo's legit?

I thought the Russians were supposed to be getting rid of the Nazi's? Either way the lad looks like he's been skipping meals, not sleeping, and got turned into a punching bag for a bit.

wagner is a threat, moreso than the Russian army.

I am distinguishing the two since, while it can be misinformation, there are increasingly circulating rumors Wagner is displeased with Putin and Russia. They're apparently in this for their own agendas now than out of loyalty to Putin. The eventual reality of a 3-way conflict aren't that far-fetched.

Did you see that skinny little Nazi fuck?

I'm not sure who exactly he's supposed to terrify. He looks like he just really wants his mom.

the threat Wagner poses is sending out these sorts of monsters on civilians x100 before they are killed off. A murderous, emaciated goblin leaning on Nazi ideologies would still terrify the average person.

I wouldn't call you the "average person" what with all the times you've been scared by your own shadow.

Pfft, there is nothing special about the Wanker SS besides dying in vast numbers. They aren't getting near civilians because they are dying first. I've seen estimates that some 30k+ of them have been put out of action, out of 50k total and that the prison source of recruits has died out as word has got back it is a death sentence so nobody is volunteering anymore.

Again, did you see that scrawny little dude? I don't think you do so I'm not sure why you're so scared of him.
