You have to wonder how stubborn some Russian citizens are to either believe Putin's lies or how deluded they are that this war is worth it, and then how long it will take for them to stop being that way and see some modicum of sense.

A Russian envoy freshly claims that the West is attempting to destroy Russia

A week before the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin’s U.N. ambassador claimed that the West is driven by its determination to destroy Russia and declared: “We had no choice other than to defend our country — defend it from you, to defend our identity and our future.”

I mean propaganda works. Just look here in the west where people are so separated from reality that they believe the likes of Piers Morgan, Tucker Carlson, Shapiro, Brexiteers and their ilk. We're lucky we have other media sources, but if they were to vanish the west outlook would not be so much different than Russia's within a generation. Plus if they had their way they'd also push their followers into a murder frenzy towards the "wrong" people. We basically had one in the west last week.

A convicted murderer and a convicted robber received clemency and had their criminal records expunged on July 6, Zakharov said.

One of them appeared in a video next to Prigozhin six months later.

A similarly worded document with the same July 6 date was spotted in an October 2022 video of wounded Wagner fighters posted by Prigozhin’s press service, the German broadcaster Deutsche Well said last week.

Analysis of Russian presidential publications dated from July 5-8 shows several decrees missing from a numbered list, prompting speculation that they may contain a secret list of recruited Wagner fighters who had received Putin’s pardons.

The Kremlin has declined to comment on the reported presidential pardons, citing the secrecy of some decrees.

Well, to be fair, We (The USA) would ignore it if it suits our interests (looking at the Saudis v Yemen)
