Russia as a whole seems like a third-world country now, detached from what the regular person would consider normal.

On another murder story though: Kremlin critic, Andrei Pivovarov, missing amid prison transfer.

Pivovarov, who was sentenced to four years in prison last year, was transferred from a detention center in southern Russia in December.

The group's Russia director, Natalia Zvyagina, called the Russian prison transfer system "Dire," and urged authorities to disclose Pivovarov's location and release him.

Asked whether there was any point in opposition activism in recent years, given that the Kremlin either imprisoned or drove most activists out of Russia Pivovarov said "There most certainly was," but he acknowledged some things could have been done differently.

    -----------

I just want to reiterate this is sadly the fate of opposing or failing Putin if you are close to his sphere of influence. We've seen countless stories of generals sacked, journalists killed, disappeared, all for crossing him.

On twitter sure. On here? A deeply incestuous community in a state of decline. No. All you do is magnify the posts you seek to "push back" on.

All the Russia shills got sent to the front lines, no one posts explicitly pro Russian propaganda here. You just have Yuppie who may be a chat bot being trained to discuss the Ukraine conflict.

No idea, but this a left wing death spiral now. Down to tehdang who I think might be a real account and 2 active parody accounts fueling the entire discourse of the forum because everyone else has been chased out. It's super boring.

It's a massive shame that the right can't even be described as a dumpster fire right now. Intellectually and morally hollowed out to the point where it's either a rabid dog in need of taking out back or a grift.

Can't wait for that speech. Can't declare a victory, for the war continues on until all stolen land is returned and all invaders are dead or sentenced to life in prison. Can't declare defeat or withdrawal, because Putin wants to live.

Can state random propaganda and heart-wrenching bullshit story why new mobilization is gonna be needed to "save the motherland" from evil West.

I, for one, eagerly await for the speech!

Actually, after having told the russian populace on multiple occasions that putin's speech won't be about mobilization he can't really do that either unless he wants to risk a revolt. I mean while russians know he lies, lying about another mobilization is not useful.

But yes we'll see, apparently China has a peace plan which involves russia respecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine. (I'll believe it when I see it.)

Wouldn't be surprised. China doesn't want this war, doesn't like border movements and likes making money (It doesn't recognize Crimea as Russian let alone the other areas).

The US thinks China is assisting Russia with non-lethal aid.

But not for long, as Blinken believes China will join the war in an official capacity with lethal aid.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said China is “strongly considering” providing Russia with “lethal assistance” in its nearly year-long war with Ukraine.

Blinken, who met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the margins of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, said he warned Beijing against such a move.

“China is trying to have it both ways,” Blinken told NBC News’ Chuck Todd in an interview set to air on Sunday. “Publicly, they present themselves as a country striving for peace in Ukraine. But privately, as I said, we’ve seen already over these past months the provision of non-lethal assistance that does go directly to aiding and abetting Russia’s war effort.”

He added that further information indicates that Beijing is considering providing “materiel support to Russia’s war effort that would have a lethal effect.”

However, Blinken noted that China has not yet provided lethal assistance to Russia.

“We see China considering this. We have not seen them cross that line,” he said. “So, I think it’s important that we make clear, as I did this evening in my meeting with Wang Yi, that this is something that is of deep concern to us.”

“I made clear the importance of not crossing that line and the fact that it would have serious consequences on our own relationship, something that we do not need on top of the balloon incident that China is engaged in,” Blinken added.
    -----------

Overall, I deem China a threat against Ukraine's interests.

I did forget to include the "with their family members dying and never coming back" part, I would hope family members might at least put 4-1 together and see they have less family with letters from them that don't match the propaganda.

That might bring sense into people who know how to stand up to their leaders. That's not the ruZZian people. They are either all on board with this insanity or they are pacified serfs.

Listen to the phone calls between ruZZki soldiers and their loved ones. Their moms, grandmas, aunts and gf's seem to be more conserned with "did he loot enough western goods" then they are of his safety and health. Truly depraved stuff.

Netherlands expells Russian diplomats, warning them to never return. The basis for this is they believe Russians cannot be trusted to not engage in espionage after allegedly detecting spy activities again.

The Dutch government has said that “a number” of Russian diplomats will have to leave the Netherlands, accusing Moscow of trying to smuggle spies into the country that is home to institutions including the International Criminal Court and the global chemical weapons watchdog.

“Despite numerous attempts by the Netherlands to find a solution, Russia continues to try to get intelligence officers into the Netherlands under diplomatic cover,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra said in a statement.

“We cannot and will not allow that.”

    Moscow, naturally, vows vengeance

Now this is horrifying, how Russia is committing cultural genocide. Reminds me back when ISIS ravaged the middle east and how the first things they destroyed was all the cultural and historic monuments.

Russian ambassador: U.S. trying to "demonize" Russia with crimes against humanity claims

"We consider such insinuations as an attempt, unprecedented in terms of its cynicism, to demonize Russia in the course of a hybrid war, unleashed against us," Antonov said, in a media exchange posted on the embassy's Telegram channel.

Antonov added that the message was intended to justify the U.S.' "own actions to fuel the Ukrainian crisis" and denounced the U.S. for providing offensive weapons to Ukraine.

Antonov alleged that the U.S. ignores the "use of prohibited indiscriminate ammunition by the armed forces of Ukraine" and that it "turns a blind eye to the atrocities of the Zelensky regime," which he said included "shootings of unarmed captured Russian soldiers."

"Washington's two-facedness is outrageous," he said.
"How dare they call us murderers and criminals!" said the murderer and criminal. "Ukraine is the real monster, killing all the poorly-trained poorly-armed conscripts we recruited at gunpoint and ordered to kill as many civilians as possible."
