Sounds like the russians were being their usual unprofessional selves but this one added incompetence and collided.

Of course the russians are saying there was no incident and the US is being provocative. Yet at the same time they said their pilot got home safely which implies that something did happen.

Apparently Russia's aircraft are capable of self propelled flight, but they aren't capable of doing anything more militarily useful than annoying pilots on a different continent.

These sorts of incidents that preceded the collision happens all the time, this one just happened to be bundled with an extra incompetent Russian pilot, neither side really desires a war with the other over this.

Anyone over 22 lived through an even more serious collision near China between a US spy plane and a Chinese jet, in which the Chinese pilot died and the spy plane crew was kept in detention until cooler heads prevailed. Hopefully the same happens here

Turkey straight up shot down a Russian jet over an airspace intrusion in 2015, and Russia just backed off after some bluster about how "it weren't in Turkish airspace".

Nothing serious is going to come of this, especially since the US party were an unmanned asset.

Why even do this though? Kinda stupid of russia. I mean, they dumped jet fuel over the drone. It wasn't an "accident". It was shooting down the drone without using conventional weapons.

Apparently some of the Russian soldiers have been refusing to fight, having rousing speeches, and grouping up against their commanders.

Not for being against the war in general, but for being told to go fight with the shittiest equipment and training possible. /sigh

On the one hand, I get it, there's no fucking way I'd run into a meatgrinder of a battlefield with only an old ass rifle and shitty uniform, especially if everyone around me feels the same way and is willing to stand up to the CO, but I just wish their issue against the war wasn't a purely logistical/equipment one.

As if things with the Wankers weren't weird enough, they started advertising for recruits on pornhub. The ad has since been banned, but I guess it makes sense - if you join the Wankers you'll get fucked. Probably first by the prisoner recruit next to you and then by getting blown up.

And apparently Italian news sources are saying the Wankers have put a bounty of the head of the Italian Minister of Defence.
