13 months in. You're mostly cut off from the West, your economy is sketch as fuck, energy sales are not dead but are being sold under cost of production, NATO has expanded, it is clear that nobody in Europe gives a single flying fuck about the constant nuclear and military saber rattling coming out of the Kremlin and nobody gives a fuck about appeasing you anymore, hundreds of thousands of your most skilled and educated laborers have left the country.

In exchange, you got...some empty land in eastern Ukraine that has been pretty much glassed from orbit by this point, a massive economic sink, tens of thousands of your countrymen dead, hundreds of thousands injured or mobilized.

    Like wtf.
Imagine the US where the only news you get 24/7 is Fox, which is actively controlled by the Republicans telling a very distorted version of events and that is what you get in muscovy.

They aren't being told the true extent of the problems and are being indoctrinated to rally around the flag because the west is trying to destroy their nation.

Stop defending them. The russians aren't stupid. They know they are being lied to by their government. They just larp along because they don't want to get beaten up by the police.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I doubt the Russians can afford to call it off.

Yeeee, so it is maybe just talk. Maybe Putler thought Orban does not support him enough, so he reprimands him.

They approves Finland's NATO application a few days ago (still holding up Sweden). Might have something to do with that.

    276–0.

All that vatnik forum troll work on finnish sites saying it'll never happen, it'll be delayed forever. All gone, for nothing

Forum troll assignment has changed from "never accepted to NATO" to "Finland willingly lost its independence"

I apologize for not being too attentive to this thread anymore due to the lack of meaningful developments.

But does being on Russia's shitlist mean anything? Referring to the Hungary debacle, but I mean not in the sense of you being a little nation in the scope of a Russian invasion. I mean being put on Russia's "unfriendly" list, whatever that means.

Don't apologize. No one here is sad when your gone, we only get sad when you come back.

And no, being on Russia's bad list does absolutely nothing. The whole NATO thing you know...

    Absolutely nothing will happen.

Imagine playing WoW where a vengeful player "vows vengeance" on you for Needing same loot he did. Absolutely nothing will happen.

Russia has no capability to "avenge" anything considering that sovereign nations make their own decision if they wish to join NATO, or put anti-Nazi Russia plans in action.

And yeah, NATO. Good luck stopping NATO, Nazi Russia, lol

It means Russia's trying to sound scary and intimidating, but everyone knows they can't back it up with action.

So, things that have demonstrably increased in strength since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:

    Russia- no
    NATO- yes

But I’m sure this is all just some brilliant strategy on Russia’s part. @Ihavewaffles@Shalcker I’m sure you’d agree, no?

Nobody around here misses your presence when you're "not being attentive", that you can be sure of.

Hmm...does Finland now have to vote to let Sweden into NATO? I assume not, but technically Finland is now a member...

Think Finland is not a full member yet but will be in whatever conference is coming in 2-3 months. And Sweden applied during a time Finland was not a member, hence why Finland's approval is not needed or required.
