Boring. If Prigozhin really turned around he's the dumbest motherfucker on the planet.

To be fair he doesn't have the manpower to take over all of Russia, but he did expose how weak of a leader Putin really is. Gonna be really hard to cover up this one with propaganda. Every Russian saw with their own eyes how weak and unprepared their own military is, and how their leadership jumped ship instead of fighting the chaos and leading a response. Russia has its own way of dealing with weakness.

"They wanted to disband the Wagner military company. We embarked on a march of justice on 23 June.

In 24 hours, we got to within 200 km of Moscow. In this time we did not spill a single drop of our fighters' blood.

Now the moment has come when blood could be spilled. Understanding responsibility [for the chance] that Russian blood will be spilled on one side, we are turning our columns around and going back to field camps as planned."

What do you think Putin's gonna do? Give him Rostov as a personal fiefdom?

The least that should happen is that defence minister and general staff will get sacked, that was his demand before even starting this march

Very disappointing, and potentially stupid. I guess Putin must have cut Prigozhin a deal to pretend like this was just bluffing with no conflict, and not an actual mutiny, in exchange for some concessions or gifts.

Still seems beyond foolish to back down at this point.

Yeah I doubt he'll get away with this. Bitching about the MoD online is one thing, embarrassing the boss for the world to see is quite another. He'll maybe get token concessions thrown at his general direction while Putin comes up with some way to get rid of him.

Feels like he didn't have a choice however. No, his 20k mercs wouldn't have been able to topple the government by themselves even had he took Moscow, and while the drudges of the Army and police kept their heads down and let him do his thing I highly doubt the generals, oligarchs and other actually important people in charge had any sort of love for him whatsoever. He knows this and thus I assume he's trying to beg a way out of this mess he's in. Maybe hoping to be sent packing back to Africa? But I don't see such defiance flying personally.

Didn't look like a serious effort to topple anyone from the government. More like a PR stunt.

And to all of you cheering, Putin is a dove, Prig is one of the many ultra hawks who are blaming Putin for being too soft.
It would be a nightmare senario for the whole world if he managed to topple Putin.

Putin is a dove the same way North Korea's Kim family are humanitarians.

I was less hoping for a successful Coup and more for both sides to waste time and manpower killing eachother. Still disappointed.

No, this is just bullshit to save face once Prigozhin figured out he got beat.

I imagine Putin or whoever told him "Go ahead, take Moscow, it will be 1812 or 1991 all over again, just like putsch. You will get to make some statements on TV and ultimately put a bullet in your skull the moment you realize you got nothing really and army is coming."

I do like PR stunts where ruZZki planes and choppers are shot down. Was really hoping for a grand spectacle of a PR stunt from this, but it fizzled into nothingness. Can't even trust ruZZkies to not fuck up (ryssiä) a coup.

Finnish media reports that apparently in the hotel room where Prig had his office at, in St Petersburg, they found gold bars, guns, stacks of US dollars and...5 kilos of undetermined, white powder. On top of that, multiple passports under different names, all with Prigs picture on them.

If Prig really made a deal for immunity, this was Kremlin answer to that immunity that probably doesn't protect him from this kind of...crimes

Man fuck that. I was hoping for a Russian vs Russian bloodbath so Ukraine could push these scumbags out.

Right now, there's no direct link to the source, but finnish media claims Meduza reported this, referring to St Petersburg media entity of "Fontanka" saying so in Telegram.

I know, bit shaky sources, but it would totally match russian reality of promises

Now, Reuters claims (according to Finnish media) that Prig is going to Belarus.

What the fuck is going on?
