If you want my perspective on this, I just do find it interesting how when something like this happens with American Marines, we take it extremely seriously but with Russia it's like rape torture and murder are just normal.

And what's scarier is how as you indicate, it leads to apathy. I've seen so many torture and rape stories come out of Ukraine among other things, but we're still afraid of Russia enough that we can just say words but not dare do more.

As I mentioned previously, I have no idea why only now US govt is just thinking whether to supply 300km ground to ground missile systems. This should have happened half a year ago.

But that's what YUPPIE wants, he has for years going back long before this invasion even started cried that there's no WW3 for him to have a glorious death in and take everyone with him. He doesn't give a shit about the kids, he's using them to try to get us riled up and demand our governments to start WW3 for him. He also uses Japanese horror women images for his avatar to try to scare us and even made a thread crying about how no one was scared of them anymore.

Many/most blame Neville Chamberlain's failed appeasement strategy for WW2, or at least the world's failure to avoid it and contain Germany's expansion before Europe was in flames. He's been mocked for a century for it. The primary history lesson of WW2 was that appeasement is a very bad idea and doesn't work. So it's interesting to see appeasement believers today making the same flawed arguments that were made in the 1930's; spend the $ at home, it will cause world war, etc. Appeasement and allowing Germany to expand and conquer smaller countries until Europe was in flames, while sticking their heads in the sand until it was too late, is what lead to WW2.

So based on what proven facts tell us from history, I'd lean towards thinking appeasement isn't a great idea. It's been tried before and didn't go so well. Negotiate yes, have peace talks, but also keep in mind that giving up land for peace never works out. Russia's goal wasn't Bakhmut, it was Ukraine+.

I mean, they have the second best military in Ukraine right now, yeah. But the invasion did wonders in terms of absolutely obliterating the myth of the modern Russian fighting force. They were neither well equipped nor well trained, it was all just propaganda.
