Russia has a long history with the west. By allowing NATO in Ukraine is literally this scenario:

Meanwhile your neighbor doesn't care about his backyard and is instead living on the other side of the town.

When my Greek grandfather died we had to get a special dispensation from a Bishop that took weeks and even then it was hard to find a priest willing to do the service.

We just wanted to return the ashes to Greece to bury him near other family and transporting the whole body was impossibly expensive and complicated.

Makes one wonder just how brainwashed the Russian troops have to be, to have the motivation of carrying on with the invasion. They know they are worth nothing to their country; even their death won't be recognized by Russia, they'll just get burned and deleted as if they never existed to avoid bad PR.

Its absolutely grotesque. As Mihalik said, cremation is forbidden in Orthodoxy. It goes beyond not just treating a solider with honor.
