"W-what about NATO!?" only really works when you're talking to people who also haven't been historically critical of western aligned war-time botches... Or really US aligned war time botches, since it's been mostly our (the US) mess the last couple decades. It's a lazy and intellectually deficient debate tactic that we've already dealt with, and by posters being far less transparent about it.

And, as pointed out many times by fucking everyone, Russia sticking their dick in Ukraine has just caused more countries to move further towards Western Interests (either by joining/trying to join NATO/the EU) or pulling away from Russia's sphere of influence in general because they've shown to be utterly unreliable.
Like Sweden, Finland, and even Ukraine didn't have any strong feelings about officially joining NATO until this invasion started because, fucking shocking, people don't like being invaded and would like to take steps to keep that from happening.
Guess who has also been responsible for atrocities?
Russia.
Guess who’s actively, currently committing atrocities?
Russia.
Yet who do you have no problems carrying water for?
Russia.
You know, if you’re so charmed by Russia’s very real and observable atrocities only having been done “by NATO provocation,” then I counter with… whatever imagined slights you think NATO committed… maybe Russia made them do it!
That means you should be fine with nato now, right?

There have been at least four states that could be called "Russia" in the past century and a half, it's almost as if what actually matters is the context - and considering that no one here was actually confused as to what was meant by "Russia" in the context of NATO's foundation, the "precision" isn't relevant; it's a nonsense tangent designed so a pedant who has no actual argument can try and drag everyone else down and frustrate them into conceding.
Maybe your French-language nonsense arguments are of better quality, idk, but this is lame even by modern Reddit standards.
