russia sources seem to be indicating that something did happen to the Il-22M and that it landed safely, if damaged, and that it was a friendly-fire incident. Again.

Massive fire in russia and irreplaceable planes downed? Christmas isn't for another 11 months
The fighterbomber channel admits a large scale tragedy took place without going into details, but mentions pilots plural killed, with other crew wounded.

Pilots, planes, none of those are easily replaced and planes will only get worse. Both civilian and military. Аерофлот will be the death trap it used to be again.
In any case, this is, once again, a PR disaster as well, What happened?:
-The Ukrainians? How?
-Incompetence? Well that's great...
-sabotage? Same deal that's not that great.
-shoddy maintenance? So those sanctions ARE working?
-Corruption? Hey! that's the best option!

russian sources were kind enough to release a photo of the tail section of the IL-22M.
She got shredded.
Needs just some new paint really. So what I hear the Il-22 survived, albeit in abyssmal shape, and the the A-50 did a Moskva impression after meeting with some nasty objects. Oh and CLEARLY this was friendly fire according to the russian blogosphere...Which falls under incompetence.
Alexander II was an actual refomer by Russian standards. He liberated serfs, liberated Bulgaria (he is still a hero there) and was working to set up a legislative assembly of some sort, not one with much actual power, but still, it would have been a huge leap forward. (He is also credited with planning the Moscow-St. Petersburg railway by placing a ruler on the map and drawing a straight line.) Then he got blown up by terrorists and his son said "OK, now you can shove it".
I've just looked online at a map of where the A-50 was when it got hit, and it's well within range for an S-200 or S-300 fired from inside Ukrainian held territory.
The impact location was ~130KM from the frontline, an S-200 can kill a target of that size from over 300KM away (it's not a guaranteed kill as it's on the limits of fuel but it can and has been done) so I would assume an S-300 can too.
Given that Ukraine has a stockpile of S-200 missiles they aren't using (they've been converting them to surface to surface missiles) they may have just said "Well the only thing flying over the sea will be Russian, lets fling a couple of these 60 year old boys that direction and see if they find anything".

Swedens official postion is that Sweden will not send Gripen to Ukriane. But use a creative way to say it, so translated in spirit "we have no intent to send Gripen to Ukriane at this moment" Sweden have also started to train Ukrainian fighter pilots on Gripen.
So then the Ukrainian pilots and mecahics are ready, Sweden can say "at this time we have intent to send Gripen to Ukraine.

The turks put that on the schedule for their parliament pretty much immediately after their MPs returned from recess just recently.
They'll likely get that part done relatively soon, but even after Erdogan could delay actually signing it and depositing the ratification with Washington, it's up in the air still how much of a watermelon seller Erdogan wants to behave like id say.

You were 6 months away from having the bomb in 1965
Nuclear armed Sweden, sounds like a dystopia tbh.
So, what's going on in Bashkortostan? Rosgvardia is called in and thousands are protesting? I hear Telegram got blocked there as well.
Anything to worry about or just another nothing burger? (I suppose the latter is more likely)
