Well, now would be the moment to do since he's kind of busy in Ukraine. Two fronts, he could not sustain or withstand.

Perhaps if you conveniently ignore how much the CPC hates the US.

In this scenario, China gets even more economic influence over Russia in the long run and gets to make the US seem inept on the international stage. A win-win for them.

CNN: Russia plans to threaten to kill Ukrainians who don't surrender, US official says
The Biden administration believes that Russia will threaten to kill the families of Ukrainian soldiers if they do not surrender, a US official said on Friday amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Our information also indicates that Russia plans to threaten killing the family members of Ukrainian soldiers if they do not surrender,” the official said, who also commended the “incredible bravery” that the Ukrainians showed in the first day of fighting.

The State Department did not immediately respond when asked why the US believes that this is what the Russians will do.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has recently warned of the possibility of widespread human rights abuses against the Ukrainian people carried out by Russia.

All evidence suggests that Russia intends to encircle and threaten Kyiv, and we believe Moscow has developed plans to inflict widespread human rights abuses – and potentially worse – on the Ukrainian people,” he said on Thursday.

Ukraine’s foreign minister echoed US concerns about the possibility of forthcoming human rights abuses on Friday. Citing intelligence, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said there could be Russian false flag operations that would erroneously cast the Ukrainians as the aggressors.

According to intelligence, Russia plans a massive false flag operation to ‘dehumanize’ Ukrainians and accuse Ukraine of alleged inhuman actions. Don’t trust fakes. Ukraine defends its land in a just and defensive war. Unlike Russia, we don’t target kindergartens and civilians,” Kuleba tweeted.

Kiev is how it was spelled in English since 1883. It changed to Kyiv in 2018. Russians don't ask to spell it Moskva, they are fine with Moscow. And Germany is not asking everyone to call them Deutschland.

As of today, given how good and on point US intelligence was on Ukraine - I see no reason to doubt that Russians will try and terrorize the population in to submission. Those Chechen troops, who are basically modern Bashi-bazouks, were not deployed because Russia lacks enough man power.

There is a lot of anti-Russian propopganda from the West and Ukraine. It's understandable. Just as much of propaganda from Russian side.

Because they've been wrong so far and Russia has been trustworthy so far?

Anyone else expecting Russian COVID death counts to surge a bit for the next while?

As someone who just had omicron - I don't think healthy men in their peak will suddenly start dropping dead because of... shit, how do I say this without getting banned, mild flu symptoms.

Think he was suggesting that with the invasion and death of their soldiers, Putin could "transfer" some deaths to the covid and hide their casualties that way.

    Or Im way off

Absolutely. I can already see the headline how dissenters shouldn't have gathered in large crowds in Moscow and St Petersburg.

    No, you nailed it.

Mobile crematoriums, a claim of 0 Russian body count from the war, and heightened COVID death counts for a while.

It involves gore so I can't post but they did a fake a few days ago, alleging that Ukrainian troops has shelled a car full of civilians... but one of the pictures had an obvious bullet hole in the skull and a typical skull removal pattern, a very fine and precise cut along the entire skull - the only conclusion is that they took corpses from mortuaries. Like, beyond shadow of a doubt.

There's also the fact that people find out the meta data on their videos and photos, in some cases showing dates 2-3 days before the supposed events took place.

But then again, none of that is designed for us. They don't have to convince us.
