R.I.P. Democracy
"The difference between stupidity
and genius is that genius has its limits."
--Alexandre Dumas-fils
The Swiss have said they will follow EU sanctions. Wonder how much wealth the oligarchs had stashed in Swiss banks.
Anonymous or someone claiming to be them have dropped a database they said they took from the Russian ministry of defence which contains usernames, email addresses, passwords and phone numbers of the organisation. And that does seem to include soldiers as well.
And pornhub have blocked all Russian users. Any Russians trying to use it are met with a Ukrainian flag and a message if support for Ukraine.
For all the, "thIS woUldN'T HavE HAppeNeD UndEr TRumP" and "bUT tRuMP Didn'T GiVE RusSiA anYthiNG" folks.
Yeah, sounds like what Petraeus was saying.
Also, NATO activated defense force for the first time ever ever. Putin is the leader who actually is making NATO mobilize.
There is no evidence yet Putin actually wants to enter Europe, even before this. Putin might have threatened Finland, but he's not stupid and incompetent like Trump. The difference here is the message. NATO is saying "You wanted to be taken seriously, congratulations, you are."
Also, furthering what Petraeus said about occupying forces, =AZWrxB9CRTPVusb0c6wQm0_y1TIAsmxX-tnYeGhMObdnw3a9hPy8AD5oyZCLDkMtvN3nC3erz5_inal_WkmtPUkbAVDRHnobzFVy2AigG4EV6oNsh0r4tBnCCVK YmXbLVTWuQY0D_5-hUDF2QTX4wWH34ZpRqF5WED8teFbmQskcRg&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R]a Ukrainian soldier went out like a fucking boss blowing up a bridge to stop the Russian advance, while he was still on it. Dude's going to be a national hero.
Sending thoughts and prayers. Be safe everyone!
That guy, like the 13 on Snake Island, did what I never could.

Per some experts, it seems Biden's constant public discussion of Russia's planned invasions wasn't just bloviating or him "panicking", but rather a new strategy to counter Putin and Russian propaganda. And per these same experts, while it didn't successfully deter the attack it does appear to have "thrown off Putin's game" to a point.
Even sharing some of the intelligence with China in being a transparent partner, knowing that China would share it with Russia. Letting Russia know what we know isn't inherently a bad thing, despite what Daily Caller and some other conservative outlets are currently freaking out about.
At least it was our intelligence to share, and not our POTUS sharing intelligence from an allied nation - not ours to share - and sharing it with Russia.
People, you do realize you are posting a lot of crap, right?
Pornhub block, for example, is not true. And take a chill pill about China invading Russia. It's ridiculous idea as of this moment due to multitude of factors.
Couple other things - there has been more than one friendly fire incident in Kiev today. Wanna guess why?
Unfortunately, I think Russia is far more brutal than most people realize. I don't think they will risk occupation. Syria was a lesson for them in that.
You only need to make your enemies cities inhospitable to control them. The vast majority of Syria resided in 3 cities. Damascus, almost always under full government control. Homs, the beginning of the rebellion, which 60% of the city was destroyed. And Aleppo seen by many as the final confrontation which 80%+ was destroyed.
Russia helped destroy those cities. Which not only caused the opposition to Assad to flee but permanently restructured the power struggle in Syria. Those hoping to return to Homs or Aleppo post war who are not loyalists have been subject to seizure and worst by the government. So its not occupation they are after, but a complete re-write of demographics and political affiliations that Russia has influence has over.
