Let me tell you guys one thing - my grandmother lives through entire Nazi occupation of Poland. That was her childhood. She witnessed all the horrors you could imagine. And like many old people in Poland she said following - russian "liberators" were worse. Let that sink.
Sounds like Ukrainians shoot down russian plane full of paratroopers.
I don't want to be alarmist, but frontlines are being pressed hard, questionable situation in the east. Plus Kiev is eating itself a bit, due to weapons distribution and growing panic. Fears have big eyes and guns in hands of untrained people... have questionable benefit.
I also want to know what West promised China for them to abstain from the UNSEC vote which, of course, was vetoed by Russia.
Oh, me too. Though some of the best material comes from here, so... Banning the horny stuff from Russia would work better than economic sanctions?
Ok, that was a bad one.
Zero proof, unverified account. Not impossible, but unlikely.
I sincerely apologize if my non-serious update about a porn site was incorrect and that I made a mistake. I am human, after all, and we are all flawed beings. I will endeavor to do better next time and never make a mistake again.

The far-right in the US seems like they love Putin, a lot. I'm thinking we need to Make McCarthyism Great Again and start hauling these folks in front of Congress to testify to their patriotism and love of this country. And failing to do so, they can move to Russia and live under daddy Putin.
Because Putin isn't, technically, totalitarian. He's technically elected.
We could talk about how those elections have largely been shams and how Putin's tried to have serious competitors assassinated, sure. But the process is there, and Russians engage with it, and enough pressure that pisses off enough people could get them to vote for "anyone but Putin or his cronies".
Until that happens, most Russians support Putin, and pressure applied to change that is pretty standard practice.
It's because the leader is untouchable (hidden deep within his bunker) and without morals so the fact that he is slaughtering the nation right now doesn't matter to him. His pride is more important. Sanctions are to make whole sanctioned nation suffer so their lives became so worse that they'll remove Putler. It's mostly directed towards oligarchy but it'll affect regular people as well. There is no middle ground to strike people responsible only and leave common people out of it.

Is losing access to a major porn site (which didn't even happen) because your country invaded its neighbor "suffering"? I'd think that's a minor inconvenience at worst - Russian porn stars don't rely exclusively on that website for example - compared to say, needing to be evacuated because there are missiles dropping around you and paratroopers/tanks rolling down your street.
I'm not going to sit here with my finger up my ass pretending to know even a little bit about Putin, how Russia operates, Communism as a whole or events up until now. But I am seriously flummoxed and jaded that the same people telling me to get COVID vaccinated for the betterment of human lives are now cheering that Russian civilians get fucked and have a worse off time than they already do.
None. Same with the russophobia that plague the 50s and 60s with "decent blue-collared" Americans throwing bricks through the windows of Russian (and mistakenly other slav) communities and setting their houses ablaze.
In short, the average person is too stupid to be able to discern actor and agency when dealing with foreign entities in America.
Or if you want to go even further lets consider how a number of Arab Christians in the US were lynched after 9/11.
