The difference here is that Ukraine can cause far more damage in Russia then they already have. In WWI they weren't lobbing ultralight planes full of explosives at critical infrastructure.

Blowing up those two oil refineries hurt Russia. Probably more than any western sanctions.

The Black Fleet is in shambles. What's the point of having Sevastopol if its naval infrastructure is damaged and the Navy its meant to service is gone?

US and republican pro-Putin tards are the ones delaying US support. Europe is finding them shells and other armaments. Sadly, republican traitors trying their best to support genocide and conquest timed their tantrum well so this resulted in current situation where Europe is not fully prepared to solely support Ukraine. While US tarries. But hey, I didn't expect the US to be 100% reliable ally either way. A pity it actually shows this way.

It would be more surprising if they could actually hit a designated target on Earth.

    "They are called MISSiles, comrade!"

I don't think a truckload of normal type pokemon can do much against tanks and machine guns. Well, not these specific normal types

To be fair all you have to do to hit the moon is fire a rocket at the right time in a straight line. As long as it doesn’t blow up before leaving the atmosphere it’s pretty easy sailing.

Republican's hatred for Ukraine truly confused me for quite a while.

The whole "Don't tread on me/patriotism/I'm a Western Chauvinist" crowd turned on a dime when running into an actual citizen army, fighting off an evil dictatorship in the name of God and Country and Western Values and free trade.

Yes but the democrats support the Ukrainians and they don’t want the democrats to look good.

And Russia supports some members of the GOP, so they want to keep that going to. Why? Well, it might be out of the goodness of Russia’s heart… or it might be out of knowledge that Republican leadership leads to a weaker, more insular, more divided and overall less effective United States as a global competitor.

Russia is also a fascist state preaching ethono-nationalism that treats minorities and other ethnicities really badly and is extremely patriarchal.

That is far more relevant to them than fighting off an invading empire.

Also the bit I talked about earlier where, direct Russian Influence aside, Republicans just think Russia's really cool because they wanna grow up to be like Russia; a strong man autocracy that bans everything they don't like, and Russia being big and strong and winning this war gives their ideology merit.

It's why all the American and European fascist are spending so much time jacking each-other off right now. They're all in this together to make sure their stupid, shitty, harmful ideologies thrive and grow.

I suppose that's true in a sense. It reinforces the notion that the big, strongman state can succeed over the wimpy, woke-agenda having sissy liberal states.

...when big strongman state can attack a nation much smaller than it...
...and when big strongman state can throw waves and waves of their own troops in a brainless meatwave in the hopes of ultimately wearing down their opponent...
...and and when big strongman state's opponent is being hamstrung by exterior elements...

damn they don't seem so "strong" after all...

They seemed to have turned on and given up most of their ideals since about 2016.

I just recently re-watched Red Dawn, its one of the most "American Good!"", manly, patriotic, movies from the 80s, and I'm pretty sure all the heroes in this movie are conversatives. From a small town in Colorado, kids defending the country from the evil reds.
Where did all those people go?

    (good movies tho)

It's about fear. Back in the 80s the "fear" was the soviets. That's why you had to embrace conservative Reaganism. If you didn't, the commies would win and would blow you up. The sissy liberals were too weak to fight them off.

Now, who's the enemy? "Woke culture" from within, of course. The sissy liberals are of course once again ineffective. Hell, they're part of the problem! You have to support MAGAism, or otherwise woke culture wins and will take your guns, teach your children to be gays, and make you wear drag. The evil USSR was defeated, now only big strong manly Russia remains to help fight off the real enemy: wokeness.

I mean, @Kokolums basically spouts that nonsense. That the various conservative groups of the US will readily recruit Russian military forces and those of other right wing despotic-leaning countries to help crush liberal groups and help consolidate conservative hegemony. And not in the online spambot way they're doing today, no, but with actual boots on the ground.

Results never matter so much as appearances.

If -actually- being big and tough and getting results mattered, they wouldn't be rallying behind Donald Trump and their brightest minds wouldn't all be terminally online freaks. Nah, they just like the security blanket of projecting strength, of saying shit that makes them feel all tingly inside, and pretending that they're big and tough by bullying everyone else who doesn't have the power to stop them.

Then when reality gets too much to ignore they'll throw a tantrum and a shitfit that the world's not bending over backwards to suck their dick and appease their combination superiority/victim complex.

Ah thank you, I have been saying this all the time. Our radical left is saying that Ukraine should go to negociation now and basically surrender. After all, Radical left is the other side of the same coin than far right.

  19. #38119
The difference is that while the far right loves russia, the radical left loathes the US and the West. They are backing russia for different reasons.

Which might end with the same result, different sides of the same coin.
