Some osint guys have been buying satellite images to carefully inspect russia's vehicle parks and carefully count what is left, the model and the condition it is in.

Excluding 1100 total rust buckets, there are only 3657 tanks left, mostly t72s or older. There are no t90s left.

Of those only 700 are in decent condition. 1100 are in bad condition, such as missing turrets, and the other 1800 haven't been maintained in years and would require a major overhaul to get working again.

IFVs are in a worse place. Only 5-600 bmps remain, and all but 5 are bmp1s or variants. And only 100 brdms or variants. Given they are losing 5 bmps and 1 brdm every 2 days, it is little wonder they are resorting to other means to move troops.

what's the current loss rate of tanks? 10 or so for tanks?

Visually confirmed losses are at around 2800, so around 2.5 a day.

Hm...that doesn't sound right with known stocks of 12000 in reserve. If they already got 7k less than they started with in storage and the invasion started with 2000 or so, then we'd be looking at 9000 killed/crippled. Even if only 2800 have been visually confirmed basic maths would indicate much more have been destroyed, closer to 10 a day.

The russian terrorist state fired a wave of missiles that only hit civilian buildings, including a children's hospital and a shopping mall in Kyiv.

  6. #39406
Sounds like it was a pretty large country wide attack. Multiple cities and lots hurt. Maybe this is revenge for ukraine hitting a ammo dump the other day. Or maybe it's putins way of impressing modi.
    Sad news day.

The Russians literally double tapped a children's hospital.

Like 1 missiles...You could make the argument they missed, but a double tap. Nah. They wanted to hit that hospital, and specifically that hospital, twice.

Militarily important targets. Destroy the morale of your enemy by killing their children.

Ukraine should be given some of the N word weapons. Putler gave some to Belarus, so it's fair game.

I'll be as daft as you want, as long as the childrens hospitals and kindergartens stop blowing up. Nothing so far has accomplished that. It's time for more effective measures.

Russia casually commits these atrocities because they know their influence will let them get away with it. As we see in India, Hungary, France, and the US lately, the world is irreversibly leaning towards the right wing authoritarianism that Russia holds power over politically.

For example: Marine Le Pen, the de-facto leader of the French far-right National Rally party, has promised that if her party comes to power after the second round of parliamentary elections, she will not allow Ukraine to use French long-range weapons to strike Russia.

You should at least keep your scaremongering up to date. Le Pen lost.

Dude. Have you been like, seeing the election news from France? Also, recent election in India resulted in Modi loosing lots of seats and the majority.

You grasp on reality is really fading.

I am not the one bringing up Russia's status as a nuclear power for any reason why they go unpunished. I just brought up the more realistic reasons (i.e political power and influence, disinformation).

Besides the speculative talk of Le Pen losing anything, you failed to mention the US state of affairs, which is not something to just be brushed off. Trump might come to power and we have seen his vows to alienate Ukraine from Western aid.

It's not speculative. She lost. Period. Maybe quit drinking long enough to live in the real world. Or just quit trolling.

You do know that second round already happened yesterday, right?

Marine Le Pen isn’t in a position to do anything of the sort, the French left saw to that when they turned up at the polls.

I hope we condemn this action with particulary strong words since collectively we seem incapable to do little else.

On one hand... I am absolutely fucking shocked and floored by the French left, including the far-left and liberal center actually cooperating, however briefly, on absolutely anything. If I had to bet money on this, I wouldn't have put up a single dollar for this to happen. Yet here we are, and the French once again surprised me and went "We aren't going down that road" with fascism.

On the other hand, the fact that such a cooperation actually happened at all highlights just how dire the situation really is. Actual Vichy France Nazi collaborationists have 37% of the vote share. They are truly within an inch of taking power and defeating them at the ballot box today, while a victory, does not solve the root problem. Namely, that millions of French voters, a lot of them quite young are full on flirting with fascism.
