And, even if they don't, what are they going to do about it? Start bitching on the world stage that their spies keep dying in foreign countries? Would get awkward pretty damn fast when those foreign countries start asking what those spies were doing there that might have resulted in their deaths.

He’s already doing the “other things” has been for years. These are them. What’s the escalation at this point? Nukes? He isn’t going to do that, because it puts himself in immediate danger and ultimately that’s the one casualty he actually worried about.

The French rail network has been hit by multiple coordinated arson attacks just before the Olympic opening ceremony.

Given a russian agent had already been arrested prior to this who had been going to make arson attacks targeting the Olympics and various other warnings about arson attacks across Europe plus is suiting russias hybrid war model to a t, I'm going to blame this on russia, though it may be hard to prove.

Could always follow the russian model and just grab a couple of random russians off the street and convict them.

Synchronizing Drones, Artillery, Missiles And Mines, Ukrainian Paratroopers Just Defeated A Huge Russian Assault

Exploiting serious leadership problems in certain Ukrainian brigades, Russian forces are advancing at a fast clip west of the ruins of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine.

Just 20 miles to the south, however, the Russians aren’t just failing to gain ground—they’re getting massacred while trying. On or just before Wednesday, a large Russian force apparently from the 150th Motor Rifle Division attacked from multiple directions, aiming for the Ukrainian stronghold in Kurakhivka.

It was one of the biggest assaults in memory in that sector, according to the Ukrainian 79th Air Assault Brigade. The Russian force included 11 tanks, 45 infantry fighting vehicles, a rare BMP-T tank support vehicle and 12 motorcycles crewed by several hundred soldiers.

Within hours of the dawn assault, the Russians were in full retreat, leaving behind six wrecked tanks, seven wrecked fighting vehicles and all 12 bikes. The 79th Air Assault Brigade counted 40 dead Russians and 37 wounded ones. “Kudos to you, paratroopers!” the Ukrainian brigade crowed on social media.

How the Ukrainians defeated the Russians is no secret. First, they spotted the attackers from the air. “Our artillery immediately started working,” the 79th Air Assault Brigade explained.

As the shells landed, the Ukrainians launched explosive drones, deployed anti-tank missileers (the 79th Air Assault Brigade’s anti-tank teams are notoriously bloodthirsty) and then waited for the Russians to roll over pre-placed minefields.

“After [the] knocking out [of] the first tanks and armored vehicles, other vehicles rushed to flee the battlefield,” the 79th Air Assault Brigade reported. The brigade launched additional drones to hound the retreating survivors. “The Russians suffered tremendous losses in manpower.”

Left unsaid in the 79th Air Assault Brigade’s description of its successful defensive battle is the steady leadership that made the victory possible. Ukrainian defenses collapsed west of Avdiivka owing to poor leadership that left battalions to fend for themselves.

Ukrainian defenses held east of Kurakhivka because the 79th Air Assault Brigade’s subordinate units didn’t fight alone. They fought together—drone crews, artillery gunners, missile teams and mine-laying engineers all working in concert.

Noting Ukraine’s deep bench of experienced officers, famed Ukrainian correspondent Yuriy Butusov asked why all Ukrainian brigades don’t have competent leadership.

“Why do inexperienced brigade [commanders] and weak brigade staffs continue to rule at a time when the Land Forces Command holds dozens of experienced commanders in reserve who have a reputation earned in heavy combat for 22 to 23 years?” Butusov wrote. “How do you explain this?”
    Ever-stronk Russia getting ganked.

It very much looks like Russian MO, complete with how pointless and dumb as shit it is for them to risk escalation just when they might have had Trump in the White House. This won’t help him, thankfully.

As expected, the russian central bank hiked interest rates another 2% to 18% and warned more are likely to come in the future.

They still claim inflation is only at around 7%, though did admit food was running at 12%. However there is a lot of dodginess in how they calculate that, like including military production where the government sets the price.

    some horrifying news.

russia, who normally now doesn't want any communication with the US, directly called and warned the Pentagon over Ukraine

Russia complained to the United States about Ukraine's alleged preparation of a “covert operation.” Washington asked Kyiv to restrain, reports The New York Times.

In July, Russia's new Defense Minister Andrei Belousov called Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Austin has spoken to the Russian defense minister on the phone only five times. Almost always, the Pentagon initiated the conversations.

Austin first contacted Russia's new defense minister on June 25. The US said it was trying to keep “lines of communication open.”

According to US officials, Belousov initiated the call on July 12. He said that the Russians had learned about a “covert operation” that Ukraine was allegedly preparing with the approval of the Americans. Belousov asked Austin whether the Pentagon was aware of the plot and that it could lead to an escalation of tensions between Moscow and Washington.

    This isn't horrifying.
    This is barely even news.

Still waiting on the jets. Ukraine has had a series of setbacks in the last couple weeks. Hoping for something positive soon.

The fact that you continue to have posting privileges here despite hundreds of fearmongering/propaganda posts is more "horrifying" than anything you've ever claimed as such.

Allow me to sum up the only worthwhile takeaway from this story.

Your ruZZians are such utter little bitches that they have to run crying to Uncle Sam to put in a word for them and shield them from those Ukrainian meanies.

Now show yourself out and gargle some more of Putin's cum.

Well, last time you were here you told us not to believe what media outlets say.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

"Supposed source" was not a hint enough? But then again when it's the bad news posters here tend to go "local columnist does not know what he is talking about/on a Russian paycheck" and if not then it is the "professional independent media unlike those in the Mordor". Meh...

Also - what does this have to do with USA giving a shit? If you trust NYT then USA clearly did give a shit, ergo Gabriel should fix his selective reading, if not then NYT lied/made things up.

i think you people have to realize the way US is conducting support for this war is largely based on appeasement to Russia to a degree. They don't want Russia to win, but they don't want Ukraine too successful. so whenever a phone call like that comes up, it's ominous because it's a sign Ukraine is becoming too successful and Russia feels like it's being pushed into a corner. So they basically threaten the US to dial it back down when that happens, and the US does accordingly as we see with uneven aid cycles.

Your "insights" on this subject have long been proven meaningless.

You have no super-secret info on US foreign policy. We don't have to take a word you say without evidence as anything other than hot air.

You're "super concerned". Hey, we get it. We see you.

We just don't have to agree.

    Sorry, not sorry.

A bunch of Wagner boys went from desert corps to desert corpses. Some Tuaregs ambushed a convoy of Wagner and Malian troops - even livestreamed it. End result was a lot of dead wagnerites.

Bout time someone went after the Wagner war criminals in Africa. And given they are mercenaries, russia can't complain.
