We were aware that this would happen but I didn't know personally it will take place on the airport of my area, we have other more important ones

    Yep, definitely trolling

I doubt pootie cares about one minor airfield. And even if he did start flinging nooks, there'd be so many it wouldn't matter if you lived near an airfield or not.

Are you aware that Greece is a NATO member? Do you understand the significance of that?

Would you say Putin is now justified in nuking your city?

We are not that important member though, we have one important base in Crete that is used primarily to support Israel. We were betrayed by NATO back on 1974 and we left it and then rejoined it later. Most Greeks view NATO as criminals and the fact that we are surrounded by NATO countries that hate us and have territorial claims against us makes NATO in the mind of Greeks even more irrelevant. They don't understand how we can be allies with such countries.

We pushed for this to happen, we could easily avoid it if we wanted. We try to hard to look credible to the west, I don't know what the benefits are.

It's even more hilarious that this takes place next to my area, I left the capital before 4 years to come here because it's much cheaper, I could never imagine that something like this would happen. The Israelis are trying to turn that airport into a major NATO military base, many locals do not like this and are afraid that something bad can happen to them.

Well, it's a bit unlikely that something serious will happen but you never know in this life, I'm pretty sure those who randomly get bombed on Kyiv and die, never imagined that something like this would ever be possible.

It's something to consider of course.

Nuking is a bit of a hyperbole but when you train F-16 pilots, then your area is becoming a target, I don't know what Putin can do about this, most likely, nothing will happen but I no longer feel safe living next to an important military target.

People in Kyiv are literally living in a war zone.

    You are not.

Pretending that you're in as much danger as they are is absolutely asinine and you should be ashamed of yourself for even thinking it.

    Good grief.

Furthermore, if bombs somehow suddenly fell near to you, the whole of NATO would come to your defense, and Russia knows it. That's the whole point of NATO.

I'm not implying that I face the same danger as Ukrainians do, certainly not.

What I'm saying is that something bad could potentially happen now especially if this escalates into a NATO-Russia war. I don't know what they are planning to do. Many say that the F-16 won't make a difference in Ukraine, tbh I just don't know. It would be better if we were not a part of all this.

Keep in mind that my country is very close to Russia, especially Crimea, this war almost takes place in our neighborhood. if they want to hurt us, they can easily do so.

This will not escalate into a NATO-Russia war. Neither Russia nor NATO member countries want that.

It would be better if Russia just took its troops and went back home, sure.

And then NATO would fall on Russia like an tsunami.

Again, nobody on either side wants that. Russia won't attack Greece.

No-one cares if you're closer to Russia. If Russia really wants to escalate into a real war with NATO, there are at least 100 bigger targets then a insignificant airport in Greece. I think that I, living next to the largest port in Europe would be in more danger.

If Russia was going to start hitting NATO countries, I can virtually guarantee that the very first hits would be military targets in the US.

That's real end-of-civilization stuff. Ukraine is simply not important enough to them to start that kind of self-destruction.

Not joining the nuclear weapon discourse, but I want to point out that Putin is waging a war of conquest with the expressed destruction of Western imperialism as a concept.

A direct war with NATO is pretty much inevitable with that ideology, and some of Putin’s closest allies like North Korea and Iran are more upfront about this.

Yeah, that's the most obvious. But if they want to cripple something closer to home it would be the gateway to Western Europe. Not going to happen though. Nomatter wat the deranged Greek or the forum alcoholic says.

I think you can rest easy. There is no such thing as an unimportant NATO member. It’s a defensive alliance. Putin bombs Greece and it’s WW3.

Even if you had a direct quote backing this statement up (which I seriously doubt), what you continually fail to understand is that there's a vast gulf between what Putin says and what Putin actually does. He's a bully. He'll try to steal little kids' lunch money, and he'll talk a big game, but he won't actually take on someone his own size (or bigger).

Kinda off-topic, but I just got back from Greece, and saw a pair of F-16s flying about for 15 minutes or so, training most likely.
Also hows Greece close? There's like 3 Nato countries between you. 4 if you count Turkiye.

Honestly if I were Greek I'd be more worried about the middle east about to explode than putin.

Not to mention there are far more interesting targets in Turkey then there are in Greece

Kinda had me scratching my head on this one to. Like "close" in the sense that theyre closer than France or the USA, but not like, right next door.
