    I'm not painting it in a way that I expect sympathy for the Russians. I am explaining to you people that outcome is what drives the Russian army to keep going despite all the losses and demands for them to give up already.

    They would rather go extinct trying in a war for what they perceive a slightly better outcome than to slowly and painfully fade away in obscurity.

    Nope, wrong again. They kill and plunder and commit war crimes because they can, are forced to, and see financial benefits in it.

    The Russian Orthodox Church is the political state cult of the Kremlin and its leadership calls for holy war against Ukraine on a daily basis. It is also broadly condemned as an organization by much of the rest of the Orthodox Churches and by Patriarch Bartholomew.

    Orthodox Christians in Ukraine can practice their faith in any Orthodox Church that isn't under the direct rule of the Kremlin.

    This argument is incoherent.

    They're facing increasing sanctions because of Russia's militaristic belligerence and their invasion of a sovereign neighbour, and the atrocities they've committed in the process of that invasion. Not for "being Russian".

    Doubling down on the reasons they're being sanctioned is not a means by which to escape those sanctions and find greater acceptance on the global stage. It's a rejection of the very idea of escaping those sanctions.

    Which is why nobody gives a shit what they think about all this. No one is going to support this level of outright lunacy, especially not when it comes with such a shocking human cost. The best thing that can be done is to innoculate the rest of the world from such lunacy and atrocity. And nobody will be to blame for that but Russia.

    Haha, no. You people keep misunderstanding a crucial part about the Russian psyche.

    They don't want to try to better their own position. They want to drag everyone else down to the shit with them.

    Yes Russia started the war and they brought this unto to themselves.

    but again, I'm merely pointing out to you why they don't give up. Since a lot of people are questioning Russia's enduring tenacity in the face of all the humiliation and losses.

    They don't give up because not sucking off the Top Dog has been bred out from the general population with the eugenics program started by Stalin.

    Dude can you not go down the "they are genetically inferior " route? Like you can argue about Russian culture and politics have created a population used to not questioning authority but not this inferior genes bull.

    Maybe you want to take a look at that map. Try to find 100 villages in there. Even the claim of 1.2k km2 is debatable considering there is no real front line, DeepState simply paints half of that as grey zone, lol.
    Oh look everyone. The fog of war is back, obscuring our view of anything that might be positive for Ukraine, while remaining crystal clear for anything that's positive for Russia.

    Fucking weird, this fog of war, isn't it?

    It is really bizarre how he activates each time Ukraine starts winning. First during the huge push-back of ruskies, now this. It's like he has decided in his mind that Russians simply must win and then suffers severe coping issues when they fail to do so.

    There's a movie script in here! I just need a 2nd and 4th act.
    1. In February 2022, Vladimir Putin started a 3-day special operation to take over Ukraine ....
    2. ???
    3. 2.5 years later Ukrainian catgirls have occupied Russia...

    "they/them army vs was/were army" meme was a real thing all along.

    Looking at that image, I'm surprised Ukraine still conscripts women for the frontline fighting considering the Russian army's well documented propensity for rape and violence against women.

    Russia doesn't particularly treat male POWs any better, frankly.

    Besides, who says she's a conscript?

    what Russia does to women in a time of war and anarchy is far far worse than what they do to men if you want to distinguish torture. It’s so bad that there’s a reason there’s some reluctance to deploy women to fight instead of handling logistics.

    Russian Orthodox Church declares “Holy War” against Ukraine and West
    The Russian Orthodox Church has approved a remarkable new document that spells out the Kremlin’s intention to destroy Ukraine while also making the ideological argument for a broader confrontation with the Western world. The decree was issued during a March 27-28 congress of the World Russian People’s Council, which is headed by Russian Orthodox Church leader Patriarch Kirill. It calls the invasion of Ukraine a “Holy War” with the explicit aim of extinguishing Ukrainian independence and imposing direct Russian rule.

    Churches often issue decrees stating official positions on key issues, but rarely do these proclamations involve calls to violence or territorial ambitions. Russia is mentioned 53 times in the 3000-word document, underlining the very clear focus on the Russian state’s earthly interests. “From the spiritual and moral point of view, the Special Military Operation is a Holy War, in which Russia and its people are defending the single spiritual space of Holy Russia,” the document states, using the Kremlin’s preferred euphemism for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

    The decree goes on to stress Ukraine’s status as part of the wider “Russian World,” while underlining the need to extinguish Ukrainian statehood once and for all. Following the conclusion of the current war, it states, “the entire territory of modern Ukraine should enter Russia’s exclusive zone of influence. The possibility of a political regime hostile to Russia and its people existing on this territory must be completely excluded.”

    The sentiments expressed in this recently approved document expand on previous statements made by Patriarch Kirill since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion more than two years ago. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church has frequently asserted that Ukrainians and Russians are “one nation,” and is widely viewed as a key ideological supporter of the war. Kirill’s comments have led to widespread criticism, including a warning from Pope Francis to avoid becoming “Putin’s altar boy.”

    The new decree positions Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as part of a larger spiritual struggle against the West, which it accuses of having “fallen into Satanism.” This is strikingly similar to the ideological arguments favored by Islamist radicals, who have long sought to portray the United States and other Western nations as “Satanic” as part of efforts to justify their extremist agenda. In addition to the Russian Orthodox Church, numerous senior Kremlin officials have sought to frame the war in Ukraine as an existential fight with Western “Satanism.” In a further chilling echo of the Islamist doctrine, Patriarch Kirill has also claimed Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine would have their sins “washed away.”

    The Russian Orthodox Church’s endorsement of language more typically associated with religious extremism should come as no surprise. After all, the entire Russian invasion of Ukraine has been framed as a crusade from the very beginning. Following the 2014 seizure of Crimea, Putin compared the occupied Ukrainian peninsula to Temple Mount and spoke of its spiritual importance to the Russian nation. He routinely insists Ukrainians are actually Russians (“one people”), and has labeled Ukraine “an inalienable part of our own history, culture, and spiritual space.”

    The recent confirmation of a holy war against Ukraine and the West comes at a pivotal point in Russia’s full-scale invasion. Since February 2022, Putin’s invading army has been unable to overcome Ukrainian resistance or break the country’s will to defend itself. With little current prospect of a decisive military breakthrough, the Kremlin is now turning increasingly to terror tactics, including a sharp escalation in the bombing of Ukrainian cities and the methodical destruction of Ukraine’s civilian power grid.

    By defining the invasion in explicitly spiritual terms, the Russian Orthodox Church hopes to whitewash the war crimes being committed in Ukraine and encourage more ordinary Russians to volunteer. Moscow’s recent declaration of a holy war also sends an unmistakable message to anyone in the West who still believes in the possibility of striking some kind of compromise with the Kremlin. While Putin initially sought to justify the invasion as a pragmatic response to the growth of NATO, it is now apparent that he views the war as a sacred mission and will not stop until Ukraine has been wiped off the map of Europe.

    1. Special military operation

    The special military operation is a new stage of the national liberation struggle of the Russian people against the criminal Kyiv regime and the collective West behind it, which has been waged on the lands of South-West Rus' since 2014. During the SMO, the Russian people, with arms in hand, defend their life, freedom, statehood, civilizational, religious, national and cultural identity, as well as the right to live on their own land within the borders of a single Russian state. From a spiritual and moral point of view, the special military operation is a Holy War, in which Russia and its people, defending the single spiritual space of Holy Rus', fulfill the mission of the "Restrainer", protecting the world from the onslaught of globalism and the victory of the West that has fallen into Satanism.

    After the end of the SVO, the entire territory of modern Ukraine must enter the zone of exclusive influence of Russia. The possibility of the existence on this territory of a Russophobic political regime hostile to Russia and its people, as well as a political regime controlled from an external center hostile to Russia, must be completely excluded.

    2. Russian world

    Russia is the creator, support and protector of the Russian world. The borders of the Russian world as a spiritual and cultural-civilizational phenomenon are significantly wider than the state borders of both the current Russian Federation and the greater historical Russia. Along with representatives of the Russian ecumene scattered throughout the world, the Russian world includes all for whom the Russian tradition, the shrines of Russian civilization and the great Russian culture are the highest value and meaning of life.

    The highest meaning of the existence of Russia and the Russian world it created - their spiritual mission - is to be the world "Restrainer", protecting the world from evil. The historical mission is to repeatedly destroy attempts to establish universal hegemony in the world - attempts to subjugate humanity to a single evil principle.

    The construction of a thousand-year Russian statehood is the highest form of political creativity of Russians as a nation. The division and weakening of the Russian people, the deprivation of its spiritual and vital forces has always led to the weakening and crisis of the Russian state. Therefore, the restoration of the unity of the Russian people, as well as its spiritual and vital potential are key conditions for the survival and successful development of Russia and the Russian world in the 21st century.

    The family is the foundation of Russian national life and the inner stronghold of the tradition of the Russian world. It is the most stable, conservative institution of society, responsible for the transmission from generation to generation of basic ideas about the world and about man, for instilling the most important social skills and roles (man and woman, father and mother, citizen, etc.), for preserving and transmitting the civilizational worldview, national idea, as well as traditional spiritual and moral values. Being the most important school for the upbringing of the individual, the family not only helps a person to understand the world around him, but also teaches him love, kindness and compassion, and gives the most important moral ideas and guidelines.

    3. Foreign policy

    Russia should become one of the leading centers of the multipolar world, heading integration processes and ensuring security and stable development in the entire post-Soviet space. As the geopolitical center of Eurasia, located at the intersection of the global axes West-East and North-South, Russia should regulate the balance of strategic interests and act as a bulwark of security and a fair world order in the new multipolar world. The reunification of the Russian people should become one of the priority tasks of Russia's foreign policy. Russia should return to the doctrine of the trinity of the Russian people, which has existed for more than three centuries, according to which the Russian people consist of Great Russians, Little Russians and Belarusians, who are branches (sub-ethnic groups) of one people, and the concept of "Russian" covers all Eastern Slavs - the descendants of historical Rus'. In addition to recognition and development in Russian science, the doctrine of the trinity should be enshrined in law, becoming an integral part of the Russian legal system. The trinity should be included in the normative list of Russian spiritual and moral values and receive appropriate legal protection.

    Russia must become a refuge state for all compatriots of the world suffering from the onslaught of Western globalism, wars and discrimination. In addition to compatriots, our country can become a refuge for millions of foreigners who defend traditional values, are loyal to Russia and are ready for linguistic and cultural integration in our country.

    4. Family and demographic policy

    The main threat to the existence and development of Russia is the demographic catastrophe that our country is experiencing. To survive in the 21st century, to preserve sovereignty and its own civilizational identity, Russia needs a stable, and most importantly, intensive natural population growth. The solution to this problem is impossible without the revival of the traditional large family in Russia, as well as traditional family values.

    A strong family with many children, its protection and provision of well-being, an increase in the birth rate and the fight against abortions must be placed at the center of all state policy. The family and provision of its well-being must be recognized as the main national development goal, as well as a strategic national priority of the Russian Federation. The corresponding amendments must be made to the key documents of strategic planning of the Russian Federation.

    A set of measures should be developed and implemented to encourage married couples to have a third and subsequent child. One of these measures could be the introduction of partial or full write-off of mortgage debt depending on the birth of another child in the family (for example, after the birth of the third child, 50% of the debt is written off, the fourth - 75%, after the birth of the fifth - the mortgage debt is repaid in full).

    It is necessary to introduce a set of measures to stimulate employers to hire parents with many children, especially fathers with many children. One of such measures could be the introduction of benefits for employers to pay insurance premiums collected from payments and other remuneration in favor of employees who are parents with many children.

    It is necessary to develop and adopt a new Concept of the demographic policy of the Russian Federation, in which the key demographic indicators must be radically revised. Armed with the thesis of the great Russian scientist D.I. Mendeleyev that "the highest goal of politics is most clearly expressed by the development of conditions for the reproduction of the human race", the state must set itself a long-term strategic goal - to bring the population of Russia to the "Mendeleev" 600 million people in a hundred years of sustainable demographic growth.

    The state must take comprehensive measures to protect the family and family values from the propaganda of abortion, sexual licentiousness and debauchery, as well as sodomy and various sexual perversions. Traditional chastity and virtue for the Russian people must return to Russian society. All domestic culture, especially mass culture, must work to create a cult of family, large families, marital fidelity, responsible parenthood, and the attractiveness of family life in society. Preparation for the creation of a family and family life must become the goal of school education. Moral foundations of family life (family studies) must be included in the list of compulsory school subjects.

    The attitude of Russian society towards abortions must be radically changed. Since ancient times, the Church has considered the intentional termination of pregnancy (abortion) a grave sin. Canonical rules equate abortion with murder. The justification of intentional termination of pregnancy, which leads to a real epidemic of abortions, must be stopped. Amendments to federal legislation must be developed and adopted that prohibit propaganda, as well as inducement to abortion in the absence of medical or social indications. Administrative and criminal liability must be introduced for committing these acts. In addition, it is necessary to legally prohibit abortions by non-state medical organizations by amending the Federal Law "On Licensing Certain Types of Activities" dated 04.05.2011 No. 99-FZ, the Federal Law "On the Fundamentals of Protecting the Health of Citizens in the Russian Federation" dated 21.11.2011 No. 323-FZ, as well as other regulatory legal acts that provide for the introduction of a ban on artificial termination of pregnancy by medical organizations that are not part of the state and municipal healthcare systems.

    In order to systematize and translate numerous proposals in the field of demography into practice, it is necessary to develop a set of scientifically substantiated measures of demographic and pro-natalist policy, the application of which in practice will lead to a real increase in the number of large families, as well as to an increase in the birth rate - an increase in the total fertility rate (TFR). In order to test the effectiveness of the proposed measures, as well as to develop their optimal combination, the developed demographic and pro-natalist measures should be tested in the territories of individual subjects of the Russian Federation in the format of pilot projects. After that, the practices that have proven their effectiveness should be scaled up to the territory of the entire Russian Federation, with amendments to the relevant strategic planning documents, as well as regulatory legal acts at the federal and regional levels.

    5. Migration policy

    An effective demographic policy is impossible without a new migration policy.

    The uncontrolled mass influx of foreign labor leads to underpayment of wages for the native population and their subsequent replacement by migrants in entire sectors of the domestic economy. The mass influx of migrants who do not speak Russian and do not have a proper understanding of Russian history and culture, and therefore are not capable of integrating into Russian society, changes the appearance of Russian cities, which leads to the deformation of the unified legal, cultural and linguistic space of the country. In the largest cities, closed ethnic enclaves arise and actively develop, which are breeding grounds for corruption, organized ethnic crime and illegal migration. Existing by their own rules, they serve as a breeding ground for extremism and terrorism, and are also a source of colossal tension in society.

    In these conditions, Russia needs:

    in introducing amendments to the current Concept of Migration Policy of the Russian Federation for 2019-2025, as well as in the implementation of these amendments into Russian migration legislation;
    in the development and adoption of a new version of the “migration code” (draft Federal Law “On the conditions of entry (exit) and stay (residence) in the Russian Federation of foreign persons and stateless persons”);
    in the adoption of amendments that significantly increase criminal and administrative liability for crimes and offenses in the area of external migration;
    in improving the legislation regulating issues of Russian citizenship, as well as protecting the rights and legitimate interests of compatriots.
    The above-mentioned strategic planning documents, as well as federal laws, must be developed on the basis of new conceptual approaches that correspond to the new conditions, as well as the challenges and threats that Russia will face in the coming years in connection with the rapidly changing military-political and geo-economic situation in the world.

    The main priorities of the new migration policy of the Russian Federation should be:

    Protection of Russian families, their socio-economic rights and interests. Creation of conditions that guarantee employment of Russian citizens, as well as a high level of income for Russian families;
    Protection of the Russian civilizational identity, the unity of the legal, cultural and linguistic space of the country. Protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the Russian and other indigenous peoples of Russia;
    Protection of the domestic labor market, ensuring scientific and technological development of the Russian economy, and growth of labor productivity;
    Implementation of effective state control, as well as planning and management of external migration flows;
    Creation of conditions that facilitate the mass repatriation of compatriots to Russia, as well as the relocation of foreign highly qualified specialists, scientists, investors and members of their families who are loyal to Russia and ready for linguistic and cultural integration;
    Significant restriction of the influx of low-skilled foreign labor of other cultures into the Russian Federation. Introduction of the principle of maximum legal and economic responsibility of the employer for the foreign workers of other cultures attracted by him;
    Ensuring anti-terrorist security, combating illegal migration, and ethnic crime.
    6. Education and upbringing

    The assimilation of the ideological ideas and spiritual and moral values of Russian civilization is the most important aspect in the nationalization of modern Russian elites, as well as in the education of future generations of Russian citizens. The solution to this problem requires the sovereignty of the national education system.

    Domestic educational programs, as well as upbringing programs, must be cleared of destructive ideological concepts and attitudes, primarily Western ones, that are alien to the Russian people and destructive to Russian society. A new socio-humanitarian paradigm based on Russian civilizational identity and traditional Russian spiritual and moral values must be developed and introduced into domestic teaching of social and humanitarian disciplines.

    The solution to the problem of constructing a new socio-humanitarian paradigm involves:

    a critical review of Western scientific theories and schools (primarily in the field of social and human sciences) for their compliance with the sovereign Russian worldview, and their usefulness or destructiveness for strengthening national self-awareness;
    conducting a revision of the body of humanitarian knowledge, generally accepted theories and concepts based on their correlation with the system of ideological ideas and moral values of Russian civilization;
    restructuring of methodological systems, standards and assessments without regard to international (and, in fact, imposed by the West) criteria and models;
    reforming the domestic education system to bring it into line with the basic parameters of the sovereign Russian worldview.
    In order to implement the Fundamentals of State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values, approved by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 09.11.2022 No. 809, in the field of education, it is necessary to develop and adopt a package of regulatory legal documents and methodological materials that specify and explain the key provisions of Decree No. 809 as applicable to domestic secondary and higher education.

    7. Spatial and urban development

    Ensuring a significant increase in the birth rate requires a spatial transformation of Russia – a fundamental change in the policy of spatial and urban development.

    In practice this should mean:

    refusal to prioritize the development of large and major urban agglomerations, the mass construction of multi-apartment residential buildings, as well as the over-concentration of labor resources and productive forces in megacities;
    the transition to the traditional Russian uniform distribution of population and productive forces across the country through the mass resettlement of city residents to well-appointed suburban settlements and individual residential buildings;
    a change in the priorities of the development of the domestic construction industry in favor of mass individual construction carried out in an industrial manner, which in 10-15 years should occupy no less than 70-80% of the total volume of housing built in the country.
    The solution of the listed tasks requires the immediate development and adoption of new versions of the Fundamentals of the State Policy of Regional Development, the Strategy of Spatial Development, as well as amendments to the current version of the Strategy for the Development of the Construction Industry and Housing and Public Utilities.

    The main goal of the new state policy of regional development, the policy of spatial and urban development, as well as the development of the construction industry should be to ensure sustainable natural growth of the population of Russia, achieved through high birth rates (demographic principle). The main criterion for assessing the effectiveness in the above areas of public administration should be the change in the indicators of the total fertility rate (TFR).

    The primacy of the demographic principle implies that the new version of the Fundamentals of the State Policy for Regional Development, as well as the Strategy for Spatial Development, will establish the priority of state interests aimed at ensuring the well-being of families and increasing the birth rate, over the interests of Russian natural monopolies when deciding on the distribution of production forces across the country. From the territory of sixteen megalopolises and vast deserted spaces, by 2050 Russia should turn into an evenly populated and developed low-rise country of 1,000 revived medium and small towns - into the Gardarika of the 21st century. Suburban settlements should become the main type of settlements in the country, 80% of the population of Russia (or more than 30 million Russian families) should live in their own individual houses on their own land. When settling and developing territories, priority should be given to issues of security, employment, the level of real income, a favorable environment, healthy nutrition, comfortable housing, the availability of high technology, as well as information, social and transport infrastructure. Life on one's own land, in ecologically favorable and comfortable conditions, in one's own comfortable home, in which one can start a family, give birth to and raise three or more children, should become a visible embodiment of the ideas of the Russian world.

    8. Economic development

    Russia needs a sovereign and efficient economy based on complete control over its own currency, monetary and financial system, as well as on the accelerated development of industries, technologies and production of the new (sixth) technological order.

    The main goals of the domestic economy should be the growth of the real well-being of Russian families, an increase in the number of jobs, ensuring an increase in the birth rate, the settlement and development of vast Russian spaces, ensuring the sovereignty and defense capability of the country, as well as the competitiveness of Russian technologies, goods and services in the domestic and foreign markets.

    In order to formulate proposals aimed at achieving the above-mentioned goals, the Social and Economic Committee of the WRC has developed a program for the accelerated socio-economic development of Russia, “Social Justice and Economic Growth.”
    It is very obvious why the church is getting banned.

    Ukraine has launched a drone attack upon Moscow

    Ukraine launched one of the largest ever drone attacks on Moscow on Wednesday, the city's mayor said, with Russian air defence units destroying at least 10 drones flying towards the capital. Some of the drones were destroyed over the city of Podolsk, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. The city in the Moscow region is some 38 kms (24 miles) south of the Kremlin. "The air defence systems of the defence ministry continue to repel enemy UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) attacks," Sobyanin said on the Telegram messaging app at 4:43 a.m. (0143 GMT).

    "This is one of the largest attempts to attack Moscow using drones ever. We continue to monitor the situation."

    He said that according to preliminary information, there were no injuries or damage in the aftermath of the attacks. Ukraine has often launched one or two drones targeting Moscow in recent months, causing no substantial damage.
